The Festival of Winter Walks is from 19th December 2015 until 3rd January 2016. It was set up by the "Ramblers" which is Britains walking charity.

For over 25 years, the Ramblers has organised a special fortnight of walks to help more people to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of our wintery landscapes.

The aim of the charity is to make walking paths safer and encourage people to do more walking. This year, they want you to go out walking over the Christmas period.

There are  hundreds of free woodland walks taking place all over the country between 19 December 2015 and 3 January 2016.  Its a great way to burn off the Christmas dinner! It doesn't have to be along walk, you will feel the benefit from a short trek across the beautiful British countryside.

With this year looking like being a mild one it may not be a winter wonderland outside but it's still a great time of the year to be outside in the country.

Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club have a Festive Walk event on Monday 28th December from Baddesley Clinton National Trust House in Solihull Start from 10am, finish by 4pm. Why not go along and join in the fun? For more information go to  Lions Festive Walk
