Solihull College opens its doors to new opportunities

Young people are being invited to come and discover the range of learning opportunities available at Solihull College’s at its Open Day next week.Taking place on Saturday 3rd December from 10am until 2pm at the College’s Blossomfield Campus, the Open Day is open to all pupils leaving school this academic year, as well as young people aged 16-18 years who are still considering their future career options. 

From A Levels and Vocational Qualifications to Apprenticeships and Foundation Programmes, the College has plenty of courses to choose from in a wide range of subject areas.

These include: Animal Care, Art and Design, Beauty and Alternative Therapy, Business, Computing and IT, Construction, Early Years and Childhood Studies, Engineering, Hairdressing and Barbering, Health and Social Care, Horticulture, Media, Performing Arts, Public Services, Science, Sports and Leisure, and Travel and Tourism.

For those who have an eye for enterprise, the Open Day provides the perfect opportunity to find out about one of the College’s newest programmes – the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy (PJEA) Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.

Solihull College is the West Midlands Hub for the PJEA and this Diploma provides an opportunity for aspiring young entrepreneurs to realise and achieve their business dreams. The Level 2 Diploma will be available to study from January to July 2012, and students can then progress onto the one-year Level 3 programme from September 2012.

Tutors from each subject area will be on hand to discuss the different levels and progression routes available, as well as explain what each course involves.
