Pyrex originally founded National Baking Week back in 2007 with other like-minded baking brands, with the aim of encouraging people of all abilities to bake at home.

With Britain’s fascination with baking and cooking shows growing year on year, baking at home is as popular as ever, no matter what the level of ability.

Here’s a few reasons  why baking at home has other benefits than just eating the yummy creations!

  • Baking stimulates the senses
  • Nourishing activities feel good
  • Cooking is Meditative
  • Baking is creative
  • Baking makes other people happy

The great thing about baking is that you can get the whole family involved! Making food together is a great way of spending time together and of course eating the end product no matter how it looks, is great too! Hopefully!

The Great British Bake Off is a great favourite with viewers so it goes to show there's a baker inside all of us, waiting to shine through.

So if you do bake try something different and if you don't bake just try!

Do you have a favourite recipe? Or any baking tips? Visit solihull@thebestof.co.uk and let us know and I would love to feature a recipe every month or week and it could be yours.
