Solihull Bridal Boutique Showcases Most Popular Celebrity Styles for 2012

Designer bridal boutique Brides of Solihull stocks the most stylish designer wedding gowns and accessories in the region. Having featured on the hit BBC3 series Don’t Tell the Bride, the stunning store situated in the heart of Mell Square, is no stranger to the spotlight - proudly stocking beautiful dresses from Maggie Sottero, Justin Alexander and celebrity designer, Ian Stuart who has dressed a range of television beauties including  Samia Smith of Coronation Street fame.

This year, February is more loved up than ever!  Not only did National Marriage Week take place earlier this month, but on February 29th women can take advantage of this extra day in the year, by turning tradition on its head and proposing to their man!

In celebration of so much Leap Year romance, the team at Brides of Solihull have chosen their favourite celebrity wedding dresses of recent times and offered advice on how brides can get their own iconic look on their Big Day.

Mandy Holdsworth, Store Manager at the Mell Square bridal boutique said: “Celebrity marriages were making headlines in 2011 – particularly with two Royal weddings taking place! The numbers of marriages are on the rise and we had many clients visit us in January after getting engaged over Christmas and New Year.   With lots more engagements taking place over Valentine’s Day and Leap Year there will be another flurry of excited ladies coming to see us!

We pride ourselves on helping brides-to-be find the dress of their dreams and very often they will request a style they have seen in a magazine from pictures of a well-publicised celebrity wedding. We stock all of the most popular celebrity styles but know how to make each bride look and feel uniquely beautifully on the most important day of her life.”

Here are Mandy’s favourites:

1) Abbey Clancy – Giles Deacon, estimated cost £10,000

Model and WAG, Abbey Clancy stunned onlookers with an ultra-fashionable fishtail gown which showed off all her best assets. The strapless ivory number is on the wishlists of many brides looking for a dress that flatters the figure but is at top of the style stakes.

Ian Stuart’s 2012 ‘Killer Queen’ collection includes the Miami dress, a beautiful mermaid gown with a Swarovski crystal-encrusted sweetheart neckline. This ivory gown is strikingly similar to Clancy’s dress - with some added sparkle - and is available now at Brides of Solihull! (Price on request)

2) Kim Kardashian - Vera Wang, approx £50,000

It may have been the most short-lived marriage of the year, but Kim Kardashian’s Vera Wang creation made headlines around the world.  The dress which she wore to marry baseball player Kris Humphries, was actually one of three worn on the day yet its strapless, corseted style with voluminous tulle made of delicate Chantilly lace drew gasps from the assembled congregation.

If you don’t have £50,000 to spend on a Vera Wang gown, Brides of Solihull can still style you to perfection with its designer selection. Justin Alexander creates dresses fit for a princess - his 8158 and 8573 models are identical to Kim Kardashian’s cinderella-esque dress and will certainly wow your Prince Charming as you walk down the aisle! (Price on request)

3) Zara Phillips – Stewart Parvin

Kate Middleton’s long sleeved, lace dress worth £250,000 by the House of McQueen may have been the talk of the town last year (and Brides of Solihull has an almost identical version in stock!) but fellow royal, Zara Phillips also stole the show with a more  traditional number designed by the Queen’s personal couturier, Stuart Parvin.

With a corseted body and gorgeous satin arms skimming the shoulders, the dress impressed the nation and her rugby playing hubby!

Ian Stuart Waikiki design is uncannily similar, with its draped off-the-shoulder portrait neckline and delicate petal detailing. (Price on request)
