For the first time on Saturday 12th September I went to the Lapworth Scarecrow Festival and it was well worth the visit, and is one for the calender next year!
After parking the car, very well signposted, we bought a programme and map and started out on the route. The theme for the festival this year was "All the fun of the Circus", and the scarecrows certainly lived up to that. The scarecrows which were all shapes and sizes along the route which was 2.5 miles long were fantastic, from ringmasters, clowns, trapeze artists, lions, elephants and many more they had all been lovingly made.
Refreshments were available along with a childrens fairground, live music, a bouncy castle, and a craft fair. Families were in abundance obviously enjoying the event. Even the weather was kind to us!
The event was most enjoyable and all free. The profits go to the Local Community and I will certainly go again. Well done to every one who took part.
