Riya Dandekar is just 21 years old and was diagnosed with a rare type of blood cancer called Anaplastic Lymphoma on March 10th this year.
Riya has been bed ridden following numerous cycles of chemotherapy, leaving her weak, drained and exhausted and has had to stay at home to avoid any possible infections etc.
Her parents, both in the medical professional have told us the struggle that is how upon them and now after every door has been closed the only option for Riya is a stem cell transplant. Her brother is not a match and the family are starting a worldwide search for an unrelated donor.
