Alcohol Awareness Week

Alcohol Awareness week is sponsored by Alcohol Concern. Although the concern regarding alcohol related harm  is highlighted this week every year they are campaigning all the time.  This years theme is "The impact of alcohol on our Society"

It aims to encouage people to think about how much they drink, and the impact it can have on our lives.

It is advised that people should not regularly drink more than 3-4 units of alcohol a day for men (equivalent to a pint and a half of 4% beer) and 2-3 units for women (equivalent to a 175 ml glass of wine). 'Regularly' means drinking alcohol every day or most days of the week.
