I have been dealing with Howden Insurance/A-Plan Bournemouth, for many years with various insurance requirements, ie Home contents,buildings,home emergency,car,breakdown etc:-They are are far from the most competitive & I have used alternative companies,that is until I came to make a claim with one of the cheaper online companies which was anything but straightforward so now & for the past several years I just go straight to the Howden team in Bournemouth,I must say I have found the whole team most competent,My wife & I are OAP,s living on modest pension income & they have several times waived their admin charge for us & even on occasions allowed us to split our car insurance premiums with interest free payments,Recently I was involved with a most unfortunate RTA where my car skidded on black ice hitting a elderly pedestrian rendering him unconscious with various serious but not life threatening injuries,I was badly shaken but otherwise OK,but my car was a write off,I am so pleased that I took out my existing car insurance with Howden & having explained to them my intended use as I transport care staff to various patients ,they put in place the correct cover for me ie business cover,legal & no claims protection etc which meant paying a higher premium but with my recent RTA,I was able to contact Samantha Basset in the B/mth office who has been absolutely brilliant removing all of the stress from me & dealing with absolutely every aspect of the personal & motor claim,apologies for the longwinded explanation but felt compelled to share my recent experience Thanks Sam & Thanks Howden B/mth 10/10

I've been training at Alento Shrewsbury for six months now as a complete beginner, and it's been brilliant. Everyone at the club was really welcoming from day one, which made it much easier to get stuck in.
The sessions are fun and have been accessible even for an out-of-shape beginner on the wrong side of 40 (though we're all still 19 in our own minds, aren't we?). The coaching provided by Tristan and Gav is great and the atmosphere is really supportive – no one's trying to prove anything, everyone is focused on helping each other improve.

Maesbrook Care Home in Shrewsbury; a close-knit community of warm friendships and compassionate staff.
My partner was at maesbrook for 4 months last year and she definitely wants to go back. The carers were incredible it was like a family and she didn't want to leave, thry welcomed me also. Her whole recovery from hospitals and illness was made so much better by being there. This time her health has been the worst it's been and she's really hoping to go back for respite to recover properly and I really hope she can. She misses everyone and misses the food (Tony's Chips) out of 4 places she's been in she says maesbrook was the best for her
