I loved it there for the peace, lack of crowds, low-key presentation, and mostly the genuine feeling of being in a bygone age for a few hours. The Bailiff's house is beautiful!
Don't expect a theme park though, because this is definitely not for those looking for a thrill.
We went there as part of a volunteer singing group and were made very welcome (a large corporate charity up the road just gives us a packet of biscuits and shows us where the kettle is!) with a really nice soup lunch, fresh bread, cakes and tea.

I love this little place. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, though I'm not sure it's large enough to merit anyone travelling a significant distance to get there. It's also best viewed on a day when there is an event happening, or the website specifically states that there will be certain activities taking place.
As pretty much all of the people that make it work on a good day are volunteers, you're not likely to experience everything it has to offer in terms of demonstrations on a regular day. Over several visits I have seen: Leatherworking, butter making, coal fire cooking, harvesting and threshing, heavy horse harnessing, and blacksmithing. I'm aware that there are other demos that sometimes take place such as wheelwrighting, cider making, and wheat plaiting(?) - the making of corn dollies.
I also recommend the 1940's weekend in particular. While it was a small-ish event it was well done, and spiced up the usual offer. There's also a fabulous eatery in the old schoolhouse, and I would HIGHLY recommend eating there.
