I now have two cars on specialist policies with Howden - one a British 1930’s prewar car and one a 90’s Japanese import . Spoke with Adam at the Thatcham branch and I really think one of the best to deal with. He was friendly and helpful - obviously knows insurance policies inside out but moreover is a car enthusiast too. Worked smart and efffectively to get a deal done.

My experience with Howden was simple and straight forward, everything was very clearly explained and I had all my questions answered with integrity. March 2025 I was advised by my insurance broker that RSA was withdrawing from the domestic market so was seeking alternatives for me. As they were unable to find a competitive alternative I had a preliminary meeting with Julia Meanda of HOWDEN who was very helpful, gave me useful advice and was of the opinion they could help me.
On my return from holiday at the end of March we met again mid morning and I presented her with all the information she had requested/needed including a Certificate of Structural Adequacy confirming structural problems experienced 2006 due to a Council Tree had been resolved.
Late afternoon Julia contacted me with a quotation this was accepted and all the necessary paperwork including finance completed the following day confirming cover from the 1st April 2025.
Quick, efficient and relatively painless.

We were very impressed with the personal attention we received as soon as we walked into the office.
