I explained what I needed and Howden met the level of cover with a reasonable cost. They did this by obtaining mirror maximum no claims bonus which helped to keep the cost manageable coupled with a good level of cover.

I went into speak to the agent and got a quote prior to receiving my quote from my expiring insurer.
I then went back with that one and some others that I had from a comparison site.
The agent went through them for me. That's the bit I find laborious as they are not allowed like for like and you have to go through them with a fine tooth comb.
Although Howdens was not the cheapest I felt that I had great service from them. Plus the quote was from the same company as my house insurance.

Tainted by general insurance premiums hike Howden people tried really hard to get the best deal. Tough job but think they did very well in circumstances.
