We had a lovely overnight stay. Staff were very welcoming especially Malcolm. We stayed in one of the suites in the old part of the hotel and it worth paying the extra money. We had a fantastic meal in the restaurant and again staff were excellent. Would recommend this hotel and will be returning.

Marvelous stay at Albright Hussey Hotel in Shrewsbury. We had dinner there on our way to Scotland and enjoyed the experience so much we booked for a nights stay on our way back to London. The staff, headed by the marvelous Malcolm, were friendly and helpful and the Royalty Suite in the oldest part of the hotel was a wonderful experience.

The hotel was not difficult to find and the surroundings were good too. Despite a wedding taking place during our stay, we were not impacted by it and were taken to our room that was away from the noise and wedding guests, but not far from the main reception - so best of both worlds. Our room (No. 7) was very well decorated, spotlessly clean and a good size for the money. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. The only fault was the smoke detectors going off twice in the evening (in close succession) due to other guests showering and steam setting them off (possibly because they didn't have the extractor fans on - can happen anyway and has happened to me elsewhere before too). I would recommend the hotel and it is in easy reach (by car) of the town centre.

My daughter got married at The Albright Hussey in July, and the day was perfect. The hotel was excellent, the staff extremely helpful and considerate, especially to my 90 year old mother, who stayed for 2 nights. The wedding which was outdoors, was very special, the food very good, and the day was stress free, well almost. Little touches from the staff made the day go smoothly, and they certainly know what they are doing, real professionals. Many thanks.

Stayed here for my sisters wedding all I can say is Wow. Such a beautiful day from start to finish. The staff here are excellent and so friendly. The man who was serving at breakfast who I think was the manager was so bright and cheered up a rainy morning after a beautiful wedding.
We stayed in the piggott suite and the room was absolutely gorgeous I loved the Historical surroundings. I also got to spend some time in the Hussey suite where my sister was staying and it was absolutely beautiful perfect for the married couple to spend a wedding night.
The grounds are lovely and its a great location to explore Shrewsbury if you are visiting.
Food was lovely and breakfast was included with the room it was very nice.
The room was £120 which is fine for the beautiful surroundings and for a special occasion. I would stay again if I was celebrating something special.

First visit to this lovely hotel, brothers wedding. It was fabulous. Food (we are veggies) was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The service was held outdoors and was very romantic, sorrounded by lovely gardens. So many picture opportunities at this hotel. Lots of character and atmosphere. Evening party was full of energy, food and music fantastic. Would highly recommend this venue for any event.

wow!!! The staff particularly Malcolm and Andrew on this stay were fantastic.
We love this place and this is due to the care and consideration of Paul and his staff.
Clean rooms, laundry etc, nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and they always exceed expectations.
Food was beautiful, hot and delicious, including the breakfast.
Thankyou for yet another unforgettable experience xx

We stayed here for 2 nights for the wedding of our daughter at the hotel. The hotel is beautiful and the grounds are absolutely stunning. There is even a little playground area for the children. All of the staff at the hotel were professional, friendly, and very caring. Their organising of the wedding was faultless, both beforehand and on the day.
The rooms were spotless and the ladies who looked after them were lovely. The cheery helpful team at breakfast were a joy, and our baby grandson loved them. The same team also did a fantastic job of preparing the tables for the wedding, it looked lovely.
To Paul, Terrie, David and all of the staff you were amazing.Thank you.

I stayed at this romantic, historic manor hotel when I attended a family wedding. On my arrival I received a lovely warm welcome and throughout my stay nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. On the eve of the wedding I had dinner with others in the wedding party, superb food of a very high quality. The wedding reception was held here and again the food was delicious. This was one of the most memorable weddings I've attended, a historic hotel in a beautiful, romantic setting. Thank you for making this such a special day for everyone.

My husband bought an unusual place to stay activities store voucher for me for Christmas. (Not that unusual he's bought it for me three times now) and again we decided to opt for the Albright Hussey. We stayed in room 11 on Sunday 15th July. It is a good sized, well presented, well equipped en-suite room above the reception. The bed is a high (had to take a run up to get onto it lol) comfortable and clean with lovely bedding.
We booking to eat in the restaurant and yet again we were impressed by the service and the quality of the food.I don't understand the negative comments about the service. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We stayed here for one night only while returning from Snowdon. We had a lovely welcome and check in. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was first class. Breakfast was beautifully served, cloth tablecloths, napkins, real butter and a lovely full English.

I visit the restaurant regularly and cannot fault the food or service, although it is quiet in the week and lacking in atmosphere. My negative comments concern the charges of £7.50 thrust upon me for the return of a special umbrella which was a present and quite dear to me. It was taken off me by one of the staff as I arrived and when I left he neglected to return it to me. I fully expected to pay the postage for it's return, but not be hammered with a £5 handling fee. Totally out of order! My lovely memories of happy occasions are now soured and I have no wish to dine there again. What a way to treat your regular customers! The hotel needs to re-think it's customer relations and customer services.

Had a lovely couple of nights stay recently when our Godson got married here. Decided to stay an extra night before at the last minute and the hotel staff were very accommodating. There are lovely gardens and a lovely view. Had a good size room with bath and shower en-suite. Very attentive, friendly staff. Had an excellent meal in the restaurant on the first night that is highly recommended. We thought that the wholepackage was very good value too. The wedding arrangements were well organized with a ceremony held in the garden. Thank you to the Albright Hussey Manor staff!

Spent 2 nights in this lovely old hotel. It is in need of some updating but is quite charming. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Dinner was rather disappointing as there was little choice for vegetarians and portions rather small. There was a wedding on the second day of our stay and the music did go on until 1am and it could be heard in our room. It is always difficult for hotels to cope with wedding parties alongside other guests but they should really limit the level of sound and also the duration of the party and finish before midnight so that other people can at least get some sleep. Drinks were also a little overpriced.

We were greeted warmly and found our stay very pleasant with good food and good service. However the décor is a little faded and dated in places but don't let this put you off it was clean and we had no real complaints. Dinner was excellent and presented and cooked to a very high standard. Shrewsbury is a lovely town and Shropshire offers some of the U.K.s finest places to visit both historically and the scenery is breath taking.

We have stayed at this hotel (where we married sixteen years ago) on and off and regard it as a treat to stay overnight in one of the suites in the old part of the hotel. This time we were in the wonderful Hussey Suite. The staff were very helpful kind and efficient.
We'd altered our booking from Friday to Thursday and may be that coincided with the chef's night off. We had gone for the Taster Menu and whilst the beef was splendid the other courses were at best mediocre and nothing like as exciting and appetising as our previous experience.
The moral must be - keep it simple

Stayed at the Hussey Manor Hotel for one night, wish it could have been more. The room & bathroom was extremity well decorated and good sized. Lovely comfortable bed and pretty views. Stayed for evening meal, which was very good. Perfect for a quiet short break (couples etc).

Took a while to find it as my sat nav didn’t like the location. Upon leaving the road and following the lane down to the building you’re greeted by a wonderful old English building, which upon leaving the car and walking up to the reception area is even better with the garden and water area with bird life.
The building is split into two the historic and modern I stayed in both.
The modern is decorated well and had good views over the abundant farm land which was great as they were preparing the ground. The bed was comfortable and amenities such as bath/shower etc as expected. The room in the old building was very atmospheric, wood beams, lead windows, four poster`, furniture etc. The bath room was great very floral. The view was over the garden and water feature . Bar was small but fits in well with the building and restaurant well decorated with two main areas and smaller alcoves. Evening meals were good Calves liver, steaks etc (though would have liked a steak knife) Cheese board wonderful and a good selection of red wines
There is a very enthusiastic manager who really helps make the place along with the other very attentive staff.
The walk from the hotel to the nearby church and battle grounds was really relaxing and if you push a little further on there’s a coffee shop and farm shop with livestock all worth a look.
The whole old place ouses old country England in the times around the Tudors.

I booked to stay in this hotel because I wanted a special hotel preferably with historic content, lovely peaceful surroundings, tasteful and with a fantastic restaurant with good service and friendly professional staff. I was not disappointed, from the beautiful exterior, gardens and moat with the black swans to the classically opulent decor and sitting rooms ( a lovely bar to sit and have a drink). Our room was no 12 and overlooked the entrance to the building . It was a good size room with a large bathroom (the toilet was a bit old and the bottom of the bath a bit worn, but it was very clean and did not bother me ) the bed was very comfortable and we had a very peaceful sleep. The views from the window were nice.. The food was of a very high standard. Malcolm the manager and his staff are a credit to this tasteful hotel. For very special occasions the suites are a must as I had a peek at one of them. We stayed in March but would like to return in summer time as it would be lovely to sit in the gardens and have a drink after dinner. If you have class and taste stay here, if you do not stay at the Travelodge.

I could not fault the wondrous setting of this beautiful period building on the northern outskirts of Shrewsbury. Romantic, dreamy, and delightful. The dining and reception rooms are truly gorgeous, and everything is beautifully presented. The staff are friendly and warm.

Howevever, after being promised fantastic views of the Shropshire countryside (which are there, I assure you!) I was allocated Room 25 which is at the end of what feels like an annexe, although I'm assured it is very much part of the hotel. The room was very nice, would have been a bit tight for two, but the point is that from the window the view was over the car park. Cars were parked within inches of my only window and the countryside was pretty much obscured. The walls were the constituency of cardboard and I could hear everything from the room next door, in fact was awakened at 6.30am by loud sounds from the bathroom ..... which were not pleasant.
I was assured that there were 'truly lovely' rooms elsewhere in this 'annexe', as I was checking out, which didn't make up for my lack of sleep due to the noises from the adjoining room. Plus horrible lumpy pillows. It really felt as though I were in a cheap boarding house.
This was a shame as the evening had been delightful, lovely restaurant, good food, and excellent service. Unfortunately I discovered that my glasses of Sauvignon Blanc were charged at £10.50 each. Outrageous! Being told prices were displayed on the wine list was not good enough. Residents do not sign for drinks and I suggest that when you go to the bar and ask for a glass of white wine you ask to be advised of the exceedingly high prices and few choices. Shame. I do hate to be exploited.

On arrival to this hotel the reception girl was very polite and helpful, the room was spotless and well decorated. The restaurant was excellent the food was so tasty and all the waiters were very good at there job. Then the trouble started we were woken up at 3.15 am by the sound of a water cistern constantly filling up from the room next door.this totally spoilt our night.breakfast was buffet style which was ok. We would have got a better nights sleep at the travelodge down the rd at a lot cheaper price!
