Chose it for a private overnight stop as it had good reviews but these mostly as a wedding venue. Executive room for £100 booked on the day, definitely small and not worth it. Chose leg of lamb at dinner. More fat than meat. Manager full of bonhomie but did not ask us if we had enjoyed our meal. Mentioned fatty meat to Italian waitress but she had only been here a week so did not understand. November and arrived in the dark so could not admire gardens. Make sure there is not a party night or a wedding on if you are a private booking. Yes disappointed indeed.

I checked in on Friday 11th November the evening before my wedding.
I was greeted by Terri on reception, she was very welcoming and friendly. Once myself and my best man had checked in we went to check the ceremony room which had already been set up for our formal ceremony awaiting our venue dresser.
We had a outstanding meal in the restaurant in the evening. The restaurant staff couldn't do enough for us both, especially Javier, the restaurant manager. After having a very nice breakfast we proceeded to prepare for the forthcoming ceremony, with all the staff on hand to help with the final arrangements.Paul the hotel owner was never far away to answer any last minute quiries.Once married my bride and I were greeted by a drink served by a very friendly young man, then we were whisked off for photos, whilst the ceremony room was converted into our wedding breakfast room,in the blink of an eye our room was transformed into the most beautiful, thing we had seen, surpassing the image we had in our heads. The wedding breakfast was presented and served beautifully with an abundance of food and all our guests were delighted with everything they ate,Once all the formalities were over we went into party mode with the house DJ Andy who was fab playing a very varied collection of music it truly made our night,as did the evening staff who looked after our guests beautifully, especially the same young man who served our after ceremony drinks Macauley, who delivered the same standard of service throughout the whole day,
After another great breakfast we gathered all our belongings ready to check out were we were greeted by another very friendly receptionist amy. Checkout was quick and easy, the twin room I had the night before was pieceful very clean and comfortable and the bridal suite was beautiful again very clean and stunning views.
My wife and I couldn't of wished for a more perfect day and stunning location

Well done to all those involved you all outdone yourselves!!!!

I moved to this hotel after checking out early from the the Madeley Court in Ironbridge and stayed for 2 nights in Sep'16. This hotel was soooo much better! Nice clean room, Faultless service from the staff, Excellent food! I will definitely stay here again when I'm next in Shropshire on business! Highly recommended!

I have stayed here about three years ago and it was ok.
So I booked an Executive Twin Room. The room was not Executive and in fact, the bathroom was designed for a wheelchair user, so the wash hand basin was far too low. I had not requested a disabled friendly room and was not told that it was when I checked in. We were tired and did not bother asking for another room as we were onlt there for one night. I did ask if there were any weddings and was informed there was a dinner dance. It was not suggested this would be a problem.
At around midnight, We were woken to the sound of loud voices, some of whom had drunk too much. It was right outside our window, the room was on the ground floor by the entrance. This racket continued for one and a half hours.
I cannot understand why a hotel would allocate a room knowing that this would be a problem and also knowing that the guests were not disabled.
The people who had been to the dinner dance were waiting for taxi's and each time a taxi arrived it stopped right outside our room.
I will not be returnng..

We attended a Anniversary Party at the Albright Hussey Manor Hotel and stayed the night in "The Royalist Suite". This room was superb in the old part of the Manor house and included a four poster bed. The food was first class and the staff especially Malcolm the duty manager made the stay extra special.

We attended a wedding here. Everything was wonderful from the moment we booked. We asked to check in early when we booked online and a member of staff called within the hour to say that they would try their very to honour our request. All staff were friendly and professional, rooms well equipped, clean and ours had possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever had in a hotel. Breakfast was also exceptional. And as for the wedding itself, it was perfect. From the ceremony, to the wedding breakfast to the evening reception.

We stayed at the Albright Hussey hotel for one night , the old building has a great history - the stay was really nice but made so much better by the manager.

Unfortunately I was ill during the night and not very good in the morning , John , my husband asked the manager what time check out was because I was still in bed ill , the response was " Its 11 o'clock sir, but if your wife is ill stay as long as you like - Your room is not booked tonight , so stay until 3 pm if you wish , it's no problem " what a great attitude and a great option to have . I would add no charge was made for the very late check out . While still in reception , the manager called housekeeping to ensure we were not disturbed.

Excellent service - thank you .

I stayed at Albright Hussey Manor Hotel whilst working in Telford which was full due a conference. I was very impressed by the hotel and it made a very nice change for me.

The hotel is steeped in history and has a nice balance of modern facilities and a strong history dating back to 1524 I believe.

The service was very good and on two of the nights I had room service which was very nice and delivered quickly.

The hotel isn't far from Shrewsbury but is quite rural and remote. So if you want to get anywhere you need a car or a taxi. This wasn't an issue for me.

The area is very picturesque and right by Shrewbury's battlefield which makes for an interesting walk or jog.

Well worth a visit to experience something different and for what you get well worth the money!

Went to my cousins wedding here last week, beautiful surrounding and nice views, the rooms was okay, very clean. Only thing that didn't impress me was the night time food (timing), the night time guest arrived about 7/7:30 they waited till 10:30/10:45 for the food ! We was all hungry and the staff seems snappy, my brother and I went for a second plate, we got there and the women said "erm you could of brought your plate back ! " we have been here since 11". Very disappointed I just walked away! Sort your night time staff out, very rude they shouldn't be in a job like that if they can't cope with long hours !

As we arrived the day before our nephews wedding ,we had a lovely helpful welcome, nothing seemed to much from lady at reception. Meal on the evening was fantastic , fish and chips , to which I have never seen a fish so big !!.we was in room 12 , the newer part of hotel, a lovely clean cosy room , plenty of wardrobe space seating , table and dressing table, with free wifi. Hotel was clean and gardens were lovely. The bed was comfy, and the room adequate for two to move around comfortably, but if it's peace and quiet you want. Room 12 , which is over the main entrance door, isant for you . As it was hot , and needed window open , it was very noisy and people would smoke near the entrance , The wedding was organised wonderfully.
So even though I would visit again , the only criticism would be that a fridge would be useful on hot days to put cold drinks in. And to stress to guests that there was a designated smoking area, away from quest bedroom windows please .

We got booked this venue after seeing the stunning and unique manor and gardens back in 2015. David showed us round and cemented our decision on this being the most perfect place for our special day. All the staff at Albright were so helpful and friendly; nothing was ever too much trouble. From booking through to organising and the day itself was flawless, this place really does have it all. We were eager to get married outside in the beautiful grounds (which we did) and was assured a decision can be made 15 minutes prior to the ceremony- most places are 2 hours! So although it drizzled with rain in the morning, the team ensured we had our perfect day (even supplied brollies just in case!) and we got married outside. Paul dealt with many of our queries and really put us at ease during the arranging of the wedding and the day itself! Even the night before the wedding, we were treated like the only people at the hotel and the team (especially Malcolm!) couldn't do more for us. No query was too much trouble and we were so safe in the knowledge that everything would be just right. All of our guests commented on how gorgeous our venue was, how amazing the team were and how delicious the food was! Herbie car was a fantastic and thoughtful edition by Paul and we truly enjoyed every moment. We had the most amazing day and really couldn't have wished for more. A dream venue with a dream team!

Thank you so much for all your guidance, reassurance and catering for our ever need to make our day more than perfect!!!!

Nice hotel and staff who cannot do enough to help, especially in resteraunt . The food was hot and very enjoyable , even if not perfect. Having a lobster scallop and bass main, the lobster was almost missing and what there was was rubbery and over cooked. Then the desert was 3 ice creams described as sticky toffee, lemon curd and eaton mess. Again it was lovely except one of the ice creams was strawberry . Just a shame it wasn't described better on menu or the waiting staff knowing there was a substitution. But that said neither issues spoiled what was a lovely meal.

The Albright is a lovely property with lovely employees. After a four hour drive being greeted by Kirsten at reception with a warm sunny smile was the perfect welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and it turned a business trip into what felt like a mini holiday. Dinner was delicious with fantastic service. Javier is a total sweetheart, after great service the night before with dinner, to be so well looked after in the morning when I was running late made all the difference to my day. Thank you both, the difference they both made to my trip was greatly appreciated. If you are in Shrewsbury, I highly recommend staying here

Last weekend I got married here.

The staff were so helpful and organised that I realised I needn't be so thorough with our plans as they had everything all in order. The rooms are stunning. I stayed in the Royalist suite with my sister the evening before the wedding then the Hussey suite with my new husband.

I saw lots of other rooms too as had lots of family friends stay both nights and they were all stunning.

The staff were briiliant, so helpful. We had it booked for 18 months prior to the day and they were brilliant with 18 months worth of constant emails and questions.

I really can't say anything bad. All staff were so helpful. The rooms and grounds were beautiful and everybody had an amazing time and all commented that the service was impeccable.

My husband and I plan to comeback for a few times in the future thinking afternoon tea and of course maybe our 1st Anniversary.

Thank all staff, you made the happiest day of our lives so special we really appreciate it. Xx

This stay was for 1 night staying for a friends wedding. Have stayed here before for a previous wedding. On both occasions check in and out was very easy and it is easy to navigate around the hotel.

Lovely ceremony and well organised. Wedding breakfast was perfect, but breakfast was very average not much selection.

Only negative comment would be that we were in the separate building where the washers and dryers were, which sounded like they were on constantly and staff talking loudly first thing in the morning. I understand they have a job to do, but there was no need to be so loud.

Our previous stay was better as we were not as close to the laundry room and actually had a better nights sleep.

Stayed 2 nights here for my son's wedding. Friendly happy staff, stunning venue. Our room was spacious & very comfortable. Saw the bridal suite too, which is amazing. The grounds are so lovely, lots of places to sit outside for coffee or a drink & chat. Play area for children too. The breakfast was delicious, lots of choice for every taste. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a 3 night stay to attend a wedding. Our hotel stay was lovely, with our 3 children we stayed in a family suite which was very spacious. The breakfast had a good continental selection. Cooked breakfast was self service and ran efficiently with smaller quantities of fresh hot food that was topped up regularly.
The weather was very kind to us so we made the most of the garden and patio for evening drinks. There was a play area which the children enjoyed. A wedding took place on all three nights of our stay but the dining room and a further bar did not interfer with our stay. Our room was above the function room so this impacted on our ability to get to sleep (mainly due to the heat and not wanting to open the windows for noise). But we were informed of this prior to our stay.

The wedding day was perfect, the food was lovely, the evening BBQ was amazing with plenty of choice.
The function room was well sized with it's own private garden and plenty of seating for all to enjoy.
The hotel does weddings very well and is the perfect setting.

Most importantly our 3 children aged 6-11 years felt comfortable and safe around the hotel. This meant they were able to make their own way safely around the hotel, which made our stay even more enjoyable!

It makes me feel sad that I do have negative comments, but some of the staff at times were a little abrupt. When serving the wedding breakfast there was a lack of please and thank you's, and when waiting at a deserted bar many staff passed through the room without once checking if we were being served or informing us of how long we'd expect to wait. The receptionist who greeted us mentioned she was new, but was not quite familiar with the running of the computer system and could not answer a simple question about breakfast. I'm sure the staff were very busy but I felt uncomfortable at these times.

We've just come back from an overnight stay. The service from the moment we stepped into reception was impressive. Everyone was friendly, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable. The training of the restaurant staff was exemplary.

The menu was imaginative and the cooked breakfast items were all freshly prepared.

If like me you are put off by a room price of £85, in this case have no fear. My room was entirely comfortable, clean, quiet and with a good view. But what makes this place special is the food. Punching way above its weight the chef is turning out some really good food and the quality of the breakfast ingredients was absolutely top notch. Very friendly staff too. This is generally not an expensive area to stay and really good hotels are hard to find but this is quite a find.

We have been here 4 times for afternoon tea, and whilst it was very nice and good value our trip last week was not as good. Normally we get tea, coffee sandwiches, scones with jam and cream plus a selection of smaller cakes but no smaller cakes this time and the bread was not the best. There was a wedding going on at the same time and only our booking for 5 people for tea so perhaps the wedding was the priority.
I would go again to see if it was a 1 off

Located in very pretty countryside. Really great looking hotel. Staff = totally professional, pleasant and low key. Really fab room. Nice views from room. Only downside = no lift above 1st floor. Not a prob for us but could be for others.
