Privately owned and operated by The Child Care Network Limited, Montys Nursery is situated at 32 Thompson Avenue, Kew, Richmond: just off Marksbury Avenue, north of the A316.

This Richmond borough day nursery is registered with OFSTED Early Years and is member of the Richmond Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership. This Early Years Partnership offers government grants to qualifying parents.

Montys Nurseries achieved the Gold Award with the Soil Association. We are the first nursery in London with on-site chefs to achieve the award! 

A family atmosphere & private garden

Montys day nursery operates from a house which has been converted to provide a spacious and safe environment for the children, whilst retaining a cosy, 'at home' feeling. There is a secluded garden at the back of the house where the children enjoy a wonderful variety of outdoor activities.

Children's age groups

We are registered by OFSTED to take 12 children aged 3 months to 2 years on the ground floor and 12 children aged 2 years to 5 years on the first floor.

Within this Registration we have divided our day nursery groups as follows:

• The baby unit, known as the Yellow Room, is on the ground floor and takes children from 3 months to 1 year old.
• The Red Room sited in our new extension on the ground floor, accommodates 6 toddlers aged 1 to 2 years.
• The Blue Room on the first floor caters for children from 2 to 3 years old.
• The Green Room is our pre-school room where the children attend from 3 to 5 years old.

High staff ratio and visiting specialists

We operate the following staff ratio:

• Under 2 years old - 1:3
• 2 years to 3 years - 1:3
• 3 years to 5 years - 1:3
• Plus 1 floating member of staff to assist wherever needed.

Montys Nursery in Kew also employs visiting specialists who teach the children music, sport and drama as extra curricular activities.

Nutritious, organic meals prepared on premises

The day nursery has a dedicated cook and all meals are prepared on the premises. We provide a nutritionally balanced diet for breakfast, lunch and tea using mainly organic ingredients, including fresh fruit and vegetables.

Open all year for 'learning through play'

Montys Nursery in Kew, Richmond, is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, throughout the year, with the exception of Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.

We are convinced that children learn best in a happy, secure and stimulating environment. At Montys day nursery this is our priority. Our learning through play philosophy encourages children to become competent and confident whilst having lots of fun.
