Got a fantastic deal on this hotel via the Daily Mail on a 2 nights for 1 offer. The hotel is situated next to the bus station, so its ideally placed for the shops, bars and restaurants. Check in was performed with the utmost efficiency and professionalism. The room on the 6th floor, although not massive was clean, comfortable and had a good view over the northern part of town. The caribbean carnival was on while we were at Preston and was enjoyable. I wouldnt hessitate for a second to return to this hotel.

I dont understand some of the reviews as I thought this hotel was fine! Me and my partner stayed there as we were having a night out and the location is a short walk from the bars and restaurants. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was lovely and modern and the beds were very comfy. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. There is a small car park and luckily we were able to get a space. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed for 2 nights in January and couldn't fault our experience. The room was £44 a night and you would expect a basic service for that. However, the rooms were lovely with individual temperature control, a lovely powerful shower, haidryer, a selection of biscuits, flat screen TV and even a pillow menu amongst other things.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly - overall I was very impressed and couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Godd stay in this city centre hotel. Its the only hotel in the city, there will be a Premier Inn around the corner but the HI will still have to better quality, great staff, conceirge girl was very nice,

I stayed here with a friend in a twin room for one night.
The hotel is in a convenient location for the town centre and also within easy access of major roads. There is a pay and display car park next door which only cost us £3.80 for 24 hours.
Our room was spotlessly clean and whilst nothing fancy it had everything we could have needed. The curtains kept all light out and the beds were comfortable with a choice of firm/soft pillows, however I have marked sleep quality down for the fact that the sound-proofing is terrible and as our room was right next to the lifts we could hear people coming and going almost constantly: most them were also slamming doors and shouting which is not the hotels fault but we shouldn't have been able to hear so much noise.
Besides the noise the only other negative I can think of is that the staff member who checked us out tried to charge me for the room, despite the fact I'd already paid.
All in all a good basic hotel and I'd be happy to stay there again, but would request a room located away from the lifts.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn because of the good value I thought it would represent. Rooms were as expected; quite typical small rooms with a typical bathroom where it's hard to turn around without thinking about the size of the room. But; this is what I come to expect in a typical british hotel, so I get along with it with no extra troubles.
Short way to the city center, although we hitched a taxi both "downtown" and to Deepdale.

I stayed at this hotel with some friends for 1 night because we were in Preston to see a band at the venue '53 degrees'. The hotel itself is standard fayre really, but it is very clean, very convenient, and the B&B rate we were on was very good value (£55 for a twin room with breakfast - non refundable rate).
The reason I wanted to write this review really was to commend the staff in the restaurant and bar. They were helpful and courteous at all times, but more than that, they seemed interested in us as guests. They engaged us in conversation and really made us feel very welcome.

My first time stay at this hotel for conducting my business in the Preston area. A comfortable hotel in the city centre with the reception desk up on the first floor. Found all the staff morning and evening very courteous, pleasant and helpful. Nice bar and restaurant areas. Ate in one night and found no fault with the food my colleague had steak and I had fish pie. The room I had was clean and tidy with very comfortable bed and a tea making facility. This hotel also gave a complimentary pack of biscuits each day something that many of the Holiday Inns in other areas have stopped doing. My one and only gripe is the mini baths they fit into these hotel bathrooms. After a long business day I really enjoy a long soak in a hot bath, my bath suited a child or a dwarf, simply uncomfortable it just does not allow a normal person to stretch out and have a soak, my legs were around my chin that's how small the bath is. The other point to be aware of is that the hotel car park only holds around 30 cars after that you may have to go to the P & D opposite. Finally a good breakfast is offered with plenty to choose from and a personal thank you to the nice 'lap dancing waitress' who looked after us on our final morning, what a character.

The room was smart but a little small - but the rate was very reasonable for a bank holiday weekend when hotels in nearby Blackpool and the Lake District were either full or charging extortionate prices. Breakfast is a bit expensive unless you get an inclusive rate. 15 minute walk to the station from where there are frequent trains to Blackppol and an hourly service to Windermere for boat trips and tours of the Lakes. Preston itself doesn't seem to have much to commend it, but as a base point for trips is great and is only just over 2 hours from London by train. My only quibble is that I made a separate booking for a third night and did not receive any priority club platinum treatment (i.e complimentary water and snack) for that; also my first two nights at the two for 1 rate was marked as a non qualifying stay so I did not get any priority club points for it. Apparently it is up to the hotel to decide what is a qualifying stay - all other stays I have made at Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express using this rate have qualified so I am very surprised that Preston did not.

I stay at this hotel 4-5 times per year, and always leave feeling refreshed and satisfied with my stay. Although they have no Executive bedrooms, my Priority Club Platinum status is always acknowledged by being allocated a nice room with complimentary food/drinks upon arrival.
The rooms are of a decent size, well sound-proofed and fully air-conditioned. They also have very comfortable beds, LCD TVs and an awesome shower.
Sure, the car park is only small but the NCP opposite is not too inconvenient and at only £3.80 per 24 hours, not too expensive for a city centre stopover! If you're intending to go to Blackpool and are lucky enough to have a space in the car park, I'd recommend leaving the car behind and catching the National Express coach (in the bus station opposite).
Their £99 Blackpool Pleasure Beach rate is very good value - Weekend night at the hotel and 2 x wristbands!

I dont know what some peoples problems are with this hotel, we stopped here for a 3 night break in april 2010, this hotel has plenty to offer and is very clean, the staff were more than helpful and i will and have recommended this hotel to friends and family.
There is only one problem with this hotel and that is the wifi in the rooms is charged at £5 per 24hours ok nothing really but other hotels in the area offer free broadband, i guess this would be classed as a business mans hotel as there are plenty of them about at night walking with there head so high in the air that they think there god.
Anyway, the breakfast is fantastic, you wont eat for the rest of the day, this is a big plus, the room service people do a fab job of cleaning your room and are helpful as could be expected, even gave us more tea and milk when we left them a note :)
Its the little things that make your stay more enjoyable, i forgot to mention the broadband is free in the bar area if you are, like me a club member.
All in all this is a great hotel and our room had a view of preston that you could only wish for, thanks holiday inn.
ps, sometimes there prices are rather steep and as is i have now booked into the legecy hotel in preston at a much lower rate for the same type of stay heres hoping for the same experiance with another company, i will update as to my time there.

I arrived at the Holiday inn in Preston to find a very small car park and with heavy rain and no parking space i was not happy. Whilst sitting in the car i called the hotel to ask for advice in parking my car. I was told that they was very sorry but it is limited parking and the girl explained that the nearest place would be to park in the ncp. I was not happy and i said i would just stay some where else with parking. The receptionist offered to come and help me inside with my bags whilst i parked the car. Which they did and i went off to park my car. On return the receptionist was waiting for me with my bags and ready to check me in. I was soon booked in and she booked me a table for dinner. I eat a lovely evening meal and i soon forgot about my parking issue. My room was basic but very clean. On check out i was greated again by the same receptionist who had
remembered me. At this point i noticed that not only had someone taken the time to save me leaving but also come out side in the rain to meet me but this was infact the front office manager . I had breakfast in the morning and Lorraine was very friendly and again nothing to much trouble.
I found all the staff to be very friendly and i have now ask my employers to book the holiday inn in the future. Well done holiday inn

Myself and my husband decided to spend valentines weekend in Preston. After looking online we decided on the Holiday inn as it seemed fairly central to the town. I cant remember how much exactly we paid but i think it was 60 something GBP. this included breakfast.
Upon arriving, i must admit from the outside i wasnt expecting much, we were met at the front desk by a very friendly and helpful receptionist, and, getting our key we went to the room.
The room was spotless, the bathroom, though small, was completely adequate and contained plenty of nicknacks and loads of towels. the room was fine, not huge but we were delighted with it for such a good price, plenty of sky tv stations on a flat screen monitor, a fridge, gret tea and coffee making facilities with a great range of biscuits.
Even if i wanted to i couldnt find a thing wrong with it.
Its right across the road from the bus station which would be handy for anyone travelling that way.
We didnt eat in the hotel but i could recommend anyone looking for somewhere nice to eat should try Tinos, its not far from the hotel on hill street. Its a fantastic italian, though it does other dishes as well. Definately one of the best meals ive had in a long time and the staff were superb, great wine selection too!!
The next morning we went down to get breakfast and there was a great selection and all of it very tasty.

just spent two nights at the holiday inn Preston and it was great the room had all that you would expect spotless and unusual for holiday inns the bathroom was fairly new and very clean all the staff were very accommodating with our 9 month old baby.We ate in the restaurant on one of the nights and the food was fantastic very fresh and a good choice would recomend it to anyone.

I have stayed in the hotel a number of times for work, before my booking was moved to the Legacy. If you see my review of the Legacy, you will know why I am delighted to be back at the Holiday Inn! The hotel is not without it's problems - the carpark is far too small so people choose to park on double-yellow lines or to double-park rather than park in the pay-and-display carpark which is only about 5 minutes away. The TV in my room initially didn't work, but they sent someone up immediately to sort it out. Problems happen, but it is how staff deal with them that is the important thing, and all the staff here are brilliant, solving problems (or trying to) with a smile. The girls on reception are always charming, friendly and helpful even when faced with grumpy customers asking what has happened to the newsapers (I stayed 2 nights and they had problems with the papers both days). I hadn't stayed at the hotel for 4 months but the staff (both at reception and in the restaurant) welcomed me back like an old friend, which was lovely! The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, breakfast is great and it is only around a 5-10 minute walk into town. I look forward to my next visit!

Our half-way hotel en route to Scotland for our coach party (majority were senior citizens) from the South East of England was well received as help was provided to move the luggage. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, facilities for hot drinks together with biscuits was provided, and also flat screen TV for entertainment. Bar and restaurant was very pleasant. All the evening meals were well prepared and an alternative to the sweet was soon provided for a diabetic person.
Breakfast was excellent with large choice of cereals (about 8 in all) dried fruit, fresh fruit etc. Full English breakfast was plentiful and included black pudding and was well cooked. Fruit juices, tea and coffee all well provided. Very pleasant and helpful staff and the same again on our return journey. The lift system was excellent and we had no problem in operating. The outside appearance of the hotel looked rather dull and dismal, but the interior with its spacious and clean lines makes up for it!

Had the pleasure of visiting the holiday inn and I must say, I was most impressed.The only drawback would be a shortage of parking space. If you can arrive early. The dining room and reception area staff are most pleasant and helpfull. I have stayed at similar establishments in the past but this rates as one of the best.

Hotel is easy to spot on the way into the city centre from the M6. There is not a great deal of parking - we grabbed the final space - but there is a Pay Car Park immediately opposite. Initial impression is slightly intimidating - the exterior is 60's concrete slab style, but the room was comfortable, with efficient air conditioning. Staff were friendly and accomodating - the weather was hot when we were there, and the bar staff happily supplied glasses of ice as required. It was a shame that the design of the minibar in the room didn't provide space for us to store it in there - we were warned from previous reviews that moving anything in there would result in being charged, so we left well alone!
Location is great for the city centre, which is just a few minutes walk away (if you head in the right direction, which we didn't originally!)

I booked to stay at Holiday Inn Preston for a friends birthday night out in the city centre. The hotel is easy to get to and only 5 minutes walk to the main pubs and bars. I have passed the hotel many times, and although it looks tatty from the outside and the parking is limited, I was pleased to find the hotel is much nicer than I expected inside. Check-in was easy and the rooms were clean and surprizingly roomy, and had flat screen tv's, mini-bars and air-conditioning. The food smelt good although we didn't eat, and the bar staff when we came back were really friendly. Drinks were slightly pricy but as we only paid £48.00 for the room we didn't mind. There was a good choice of breakfast items but even better it was served until noon which meant only rolling out of bed at 11.30am!! Check-out time was 12pm too but for a few extra pounds you could keep the room until later. Again the staff in the morning were friendly and made check-out easy. All in all this was a good stay, and really good value for money.

I choose this hotel as we reguarly stay over in preston to visit friends. having tried sevral of prestons hotels we finally decided to give the holiday Inn ago. what a suprise this is by far the best hotel we have stayed at in the area. From the warm friendly arrival to the immpresively clean room with a modern TV. Every staff member we came in contact was friendly. If you want a drink or food, my advice is not to think its a hotel it will be dear they had plenty of offers on. For once we could invite our friends for a drink and not be embarresed by the prices. To be honest even if they had of been dear the bar was so relaxing and service was so friendly we would of payed it.
