Security chain on bedroom door, spy hole at decent height grab bars in shower = great. Dinner service for coach customers looks organised unless at the end when food gone or cold. Breakfast was chaos

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Preston on a coach tour with Shearings there again because it's a coach tour or they seem to dish up the leftovers from dinner time i.e. shepherd's pie and cheese stuffed ravioli if I ever go there again I'm going to take some sandwiches with me because of Shearings great customer service will they don't really want to know your complaint I don't think I ever will stay there again and I'll certainly won't be going with Shearings again

Extremely clean rooms. Friendly professional staff. Beds are way to hard. Food is expensive and way below par. I would be reluctant to visit again.

The rooms were of a high standard . The food was good but having to share the restaurant with about 20 young children from a school party Made it very challenging and noisy . Also on arrival asking about where to go for shopping a member of staff advised us to stay in the hotel as it was not a safe area

My wife and I stayed for one night in this hotel and it was fabulous. Finding it was no problem as it was right beside the main road.We easily found a parking space as we arrived early in the day. The receptionist Katherine was very knowledgeable and helpful and an excellent front of house person, she also introduced us to the IHG points scheme. The staff in the restaurant were also very helpful especially Josie as nothing was too much trouble to her. Our room was spotlessly clean as was every other part of the Hotel that we saw. A well run Hotel and a pleasure to stay in.

This hotel exceeded expectations. For the price I expected from but tolerable in reality I was cheerfully greeted on arrival; they knew of my booking immediately and I was handed a room key very quickly.

The room was nice and comfortable twin bed but I was alone so no issue there. The bed was softer than I would normally choose but was actually very comfortable. Most importantly for me the room had a bath not just a shower.

The restaurant serves basic but good food and wine at reasonable prices. Service was prompt and friendly.

Breakfast was excellent. All served at a good temperature and the black pudding was perfectly cooked.

Parking is too limited for the number of rooms; they really should comp parking at the bus station car park next door. Other than this the hotel is far better than I would ever have expected.

Stayed 1 night. Parking is limited but managed to find a space at 730pm. However later that evening I noticed I was blocked in but luckily it had moved by the time I needed to leave in the morning.

Staff very friendly especially the girls on checkin.

Room was fine except the lighting which was not great when fitting my contact lenses lol.. Nice message written by the Housekeeper saying she hoped I enjoyed my stay. batteries needed replacing in the TV control which I mentioned when checking out.

Nice bar and lovely breakfast.

Considering this is at the budget end of Hotels, I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were both efficient, friendly and helpful. The rooms were a decent size and very clean and well equipped. There is free parking at the hotel too.

Stayed here for 5 nights during a business trip and must say the best Holiday inn I have stayed in in a long time. Staff were friendly and welcoming both on reception and the bar/restaurant.
Modern styling in communal and bedrooms, all clean and tidy.
Food in restaurant is good with a wide choice. Starbucks coffee in bar was a bonus. Will definitely stay here again.

Great location, clean, smart rooms and bright well decorated public areas.

Wonderfully friendly staff throughout- reception, bar and at breakfast! Really made our reunion. Incredibly good value accommodation and breakfast add on.

Lifts are a bit slow!

I wouldn't visit this hotel again (I am a Platinum elite member of IHG) The car park was nothing short of total chaos. Reception is on the first floor that you have access via a lobby so in the lift (wait, wait, wait) off at 1st floor, check in, back to the lift (wait, wait, wait) off at floor 6 (members floor) which is crazy as we had to wait the longest for the lift each time? arrival at hotel to room time was over 40 mins and we were the only guests checking in!

The room was tiny, my wife and I had to literally squeeze past each to move around the room. Our window would only slide open around 4 inches (100 mm) due to (according to the manager) Health and safety??? never heard of this legislation? In reality it was because the window style is so outdated that they are protecting themselves due to insurance, but we have the discomfort. I appreciate that there was a small a/c unit, but we do not like to use these for differing reasons, so the room was too hot. In fairness the manager he did provide a fan of sorts which helped a little.

Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was a good standard, however, the whole relaxation in the room experience and car park rated 0 stars, the 3 star rating was for the staff

Better and more comfortable hotels in the area...avoid this one

As we have mobility difficulties, the efficient receptionist kindly gave us a vacant disabled room which was huge and of course with all the handrails, lowered sinks etc for people more disabled than ourselves.

Staff were friendly and helpful. From other comments, the hotel has had a facelift, but its still pretty soul-less - you could be anywhere in the world.

We dined in on the Friday night, but due to one of the many coach parties taking up the dining room, we had to eat in the bar - not something we like to do amongst all the drinkers. The food itself was typical chain corporate food - designed by accountants. Tastless and portions far too large - other establishments are now starting to offer two sizes of main course, for those of us with smaller appetites and a hate of so much uneaten food going into the bin. Large portions do not make up for rubbish food. We were at a formal dinner locally on the Saturday night, so did not eat in.

The two breakfasts were another example of cheap ingredients - I usually like black sausage, but this was inedible.
