This was the first time i have been to Preston, and stayed at the Holiday Inn,after a pretty stressful journey due to traffic congestion, and missing the entrance to the hotel, when i finally made it, and checked in by Jenny who was so bubbly and cheerful, after i explained my journey, the room was very clean, and the bed very comfy, i decided i wanted to see the towns didnt know how to get thereby went to the bar and asked Sean, who is a very polite team member, and very informative, after i asked him how to get to the town, he showed me directions, and also again later in the evening when i asked if he could recommend a good indian restaurant, he did ,and the meal was fantastic, the lad never stopped working he was also on breakfast duty, and always helping people i noticed, what a credit to the holiday inn team.I only stayed one night but enjoyed my stay, at this really wonderful hotel, not forgetting Georgina on check out who was also very friendly and bubbly, they have excellent members of staff, who are there if you need anything. Thank you for a great stay.

This hotel is a comfortable 15 minute walk from the station, although you may wish to take a taxi at night as the roads between the Town Hall and hotel are quite deserted. The staff on check in were friendly and helpful, not least as I arrived at the same time as a coachload of Dutch students.

I have stayed here many times before and was pleasantly surprised by the face lift. A rather plain 1960s building has been transformed. The public areas are attractive, airy and comfortable. I had a nice drink in the bar, where again the staff were friendly - although the friendliest staff member is the head waitress who supervised breakfast, always with a ready smile.

My bedroom was small but perfectly formed and, again, had had a lovely make over. The desk chair and the easy chair are two of the most comfortable I have ever sat in, as was the bed to sleep in. There is an iron and board, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe. I would have liked a chain on the door, merely for peace of mind, and clearly there used to be as part of it was left. The bathroom was also well-appointed.

Breakfast was good, with all the dishes in the buffet freshly prepared.

We stayed here to attend a wedding reception in the locality and were delighted with the comfortable, well appointed room. The welcome from Georgia was lovely; she recognised our loyalty membership, and our logged preference for a room on a high floor and away from lifts was accommodated. The other lady on Reception was happy to book a taxi for us when we were ready to leave for the party. Our room was clean and modern with nice touches like the USB ports built into plug sockets, and working air con. The bed was really comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep!
Breakfast was everything we wanted too; a wide selection of cooked and continental goodies to start the day.
What really stood out throughout our stay was the cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff. Every single one was a credit to the company. We will almost certainly be back.

I stayed here for one night for work purposes. The check in staff were great and efficient. There is a 'mini gym' which is laughable but at least they have something. The room I was given was a twin the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. It had an iron and ironing board and hairdryer which was good.
We had breakfast this was atrocious, really bad coffee and poor selection of buffet food which wasn't cooked that well. I'd suggest getting breakfast in town as the hotel is located right by the city centre. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate staying here again if in the area.

We had a great stay in a warm and welcoming environment! The rooms were spotless and the air conditioning was very welcome! The staff were exceptional - nothing was too much for them! We couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly and can’t wait to return!

I’d like to thank Georgia for her professionalism and welcoming attitude as I walked into this hotel. I didn’t feel the same as I walked out over 4 years ago, when I would have say this hotel was very poor and not a hotel I would have wanted to return to. Georgia made the reception smile recognising my loyalty membership and making sure that after my last disastrous stay that I was happy with my room, telling me that the hotel had had a major transforming refurbishment.

Well she didn’t lie the rooms are now very welcoming and clean and tidy and I had one of the best nights sleep in a hotel for ages! The food offer is standard Holiday Inn menu but the chefs excellent cooking stood out! Bini served me (still think it’s a blokes name :-) ) the meal experience was a delight and she ensured that the professional approach to the customer carried on, great service!

Thank you Holiday Inn Preston for making my trip to rainy Preston a trip full of sunshine! I look forward to coming back soon!

The room was very modern.. Very clean and comfortable.. also very well equipped.

Our dinner was nice.. Service a little slow getting everyone's starters served. But main course was tasty and a good choice. Compliments to the chef.

Breakfast this morning was buffet style.. And I can honestly say I can't think of anything that wasn't included..

Well done to housekeeping staff for keeping place so clean

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Preston

Had a wonderful sleep. Facilities were good. Very much enjoyed the shower as not all hotels have good water pressure. Staff we saw were helpful and asked us how we were which is always nice. Would return

We needed accommodation for our boys U14 footy tournament nearby.
This holiday had just had a bit of a makeover & refresh, it was ideal location, nice rooms, lovely bar/lounge area.
Breakfast was ok too, so overall very good.
I’ve scored it 5 doesn’t mean it’s 5 star hotel, but what it is, is a nice clean value hotel, more than happy to recommend and use again.

The hotel is finishing off renovations. Nice new room, bar and restaurant area. Good free wifi. I hesitated booking based on the reviews but I needn't have. Welcoming staff. Air conditioning in rooms nice and quiet.

Minor points: the car park is very small, and tight - get there early for a space. Otherwise there is a large car park nearby. In the room there is some traffic noise from outside, but very minor. Shower pressure was a bit low. Staff seemed rushed off their feet at breakfast trying to clear and wipe tables. Lifts are a bit slow.

The hotel is currently being refurbed . We stayed in two of the new rooms and they are very smart indeed . Having found the Holiday Inn at Slough very tired recently this one is a revelation . All staff very friendly as usual ( our 3rd visit in last 12 months and work was needed ) . Hopefully the refurb of communal areas will be just as good .

I visited this hotel for a day's meeting, which was satisfactory. I was fortunate to obtain a space in the small car park, and the meeting room was well lit and spacious. Bottled water was provided at the start of the day, but despite a request for replenishment, this was not done before we left at 1600hrs. Refurbishment work is nearing completion as the hotel approaches its 20th anniversary, and I look forward to visiting in the future.

Stayed here for 4 nights on business and was allocated a refurbished room which looked like it was unused previously.
Very quiet 6th floor room, really comfortable bed and a great breakfast served by Lorraine who was very helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately there was a bus load of visitors, many of whom were rather bad mannered especially at breakfast.

This was our second visit in two months to this great city centre hotel. We had a few problems with our room on our first visit but it was all dealt with promptly by Kay. This time we had a fully refurbished room on the 5th floor overlooking the bus station. The rooms are of good size and the bathroom fittings of good quality. We only had issue with the wardrobe rail, which is too short if you are staying for 4 nights as we did. The hotel has a great bar and restaurant area which has a nice atmosphere. Dinner here is very good, limited selection, but all cooked to order. Breakfast is very good too, with plenty to chose from. The staff at the bar and restaurant are excellent and a big thankyou to Tess and Lorraine at breakfast. They even remembered me from our first visit. Large city centre hotels take note. The hotel has an excellent location for the city centre unfortunately the carpark is very small and spaces are unlikely to be available if you arrive after 4pm. Car parking is available at the bus station opposite - £4 overnight and £6 all day. We would recommend this hotel.

Right on the doorstop of the bus station, friendly staff, clean facilities, central location. Poor parking facilities, first come first served basis, so if you're not booking in early you will struggle for a space

Stayed here to attend a course last week. While looking to book a hotel I always check first to see that there’s parking which evidently it did. On arrival the car park was completely full and I had to park on a road with double yellows just to check in. There I was advised there was an overflow car park I could use. Brilliant I thought, but the catch is you got to be out by 7am when I didn’t have to leave until 9am. Saying that the staff food and everything else at the hotel was fine. Getting up a lot earlier than I really needed to though wasn’t the best.

Nice clean hotel. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast lovely. Staff very polite and friendly. Hotel in perfect place for central Preston. Hotel undergoing refurbishment, but apart from a bit of scaffolding we wouldn't have known.

A frequent visitor at this hotel I feel as if I know the place too well sometimes.
Rooms not big but well maintained with friendly and willing cleaners (I was on 3rd floor)
Reception staff always helpful and breakfast staff add the personal touch and engage with residents allowing a feeling of wellbeing.
Parking at this hotel is a downside with an already small car park reduced in size by building works. It’s frustrating at best with Parking Officers prowling looking to extract money off unsuspecting and law biding hotel residents who hadn’t registered their car registration numbers within 15 mins of entering.
Anyway that aside, I’ve said it before this hotel might not be the Ritz but it’s clean, well run and if you need to stay in Preston close to the city centre it’s the best option.

booked 3 night stay as visit the Guild hall for the Snooker Championships, greeting at reception was friendly and welcoming , twin room allocated was adequate, clean and well presented, only used hotel as a base didn't eat or drink in hotel, only real gripe was my room 501 was right next to stairs exit which the access door wasn't slow closing hence banging shut, would stay again
