Two Wines of the Week from South Eastern Australia

Called into Wilson Wines this week and they suggested I do the tasting notes of a rather good Semillon Chardonnay and then compare them with theirs!!! Oooer!!    However not one to pass up the opportunity of  tasting wine I said I would give it ago.  Stand by Oz Clarke!! or indeed Gilly Goolden ( I loved her descriptions of the wine she tasted)
So here goes from the Amateur!!

Richmond Ridge Semillon Chardonnay from South Eastern Australia.
The scent was steely with a hint of green tea.  The taste was ripe peaches at first but then lingered into Greengages with a sharp dry ending.  I loved it.

This is what the experts say:

Pale lemon in colour – displays an abundance of tropical pineapple, melon and peach with subtle hints of fresh green tea.  It is a crisp and clean wine which is delicious with mustard roast chicken or lemon grilled Salmon.

So how did I do?

As we did two wines last week we thought we would do two this week so here is a rather yummy red:

Richmond Ridge Shiraz Cabinet
South East Australia

Tasting Notes from the experts:

Rich and full of flavour this vibrant wine has dark berry flavours, a generous palate with Blackcurrant ,raisin and subtle  chocolate flavours.

Wilson Wines serve the Licensed Trade through out West Wales.  Their wines from the world over are carefully sourced and not found in the Supermarkets.  To order contact 01646 429 109
