If you run a café, restaurant, sandwich bar, deli counter or bakery you need to be up to date with the latest EU laws.

From December 13 you must provide your customers with allergy advice on foods you sell that are unpackaged. If you need help with this you can get up to date with a special one-day course devised by Maynard Training Services in Carmarthenshire.

Get on course for new laws on food labelling

Food businesses need to be up to date with new European laws by December 13. From that day you will need to provide information to customers who need to avoid certain ingredients because of an allergy.

This will affect you if you run any kind of catering business that sells food to the public.

There will also be changes to existing legislation on labelling allergenic ingredients in prepacked foods.

There’s an easy way to get up to date with the new legislation and to ensure that your business complies with the best practice guidance.

Maynard Training Services have devised a special one-day course to cover all the requirements. It’s an ideal way for small businesses all over west Wales to stay ahead of complex legislation.

Did you know that around 1 per cent of people in the UK have coeliac disease (sometimes referred to as gluten intolerance). This is a lifelong autoimmune disease, which is caused by the immune system reacting to gluten. This alone makes labelling claims about gluten in foods an important issue – and this one day training course can help you get it right.

In one day you can find out all you need to know about the technical guidance issued by The Food Standards Agency to small and medium-sized enterprises to help them comply with new allergen labelling rules.

Maynard Training Services can provide training on-site within your organisation anywhere in west Wales. The firm is owned by senior trainer Mike Maynard, who has over 30 years training experience.

As well as this latest EU law, Mike and his fully qualified team offer training for businesses and organisations  in the following subjects: First aid, paediatric first aid, SIA door supervisor course, AED/DE-Fib courses, manual handling, conflict management;  retail, public or third sector training; lone worker and personal safety, substance misuse, food hygiene; and equality and diversity (managing differences).
