Smith Woodhouse LBV Port
The grapes for Smith Woodhouse’s LBV come from the Madalena vineyard which lies alongside a tributary of the Douro River which is acknowledged as having the highest concentration of top quality vineyards.
The colour on this Late Bottled Vintage Port is an intense and deep Ruby Red.
The nose is brimming with ripe red fruits and there are also soft and delicate
aromas of black plums and hints of cherries.
On the palate the wine is full bodied with an exquisite and balanced structure
Full of finesse.
I cannot think of a more perfect way to finish a meal- teamed up with a good cheeseboard- A ripe Gorgonzola or Stilton? (see Wisebuys for gorgeous cheese!) perfect!!
