Are you an educator?
Would you like a day out that educates and entertains?
When was the last time you visited Folly Farm?

Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo has undergone a radical transformation in recent years and it offers an exciting day out.
Folly Farm Advernture Park and Zoo will capture the interest and imagination of all youngsters (and grown-ups!) and provides an enjoyable learning opportunity for all. The staff at Folly Farm are so knowledgeable and can cater special days just for schools.
The 23rd of May is an exceptional one-off, Africa Day

This celebrates world Africa day and will be a very special event.  This will be a fun-packed day of culture, conservation and creativity.  There will be,
•    An African puppet theatre show.
•    A drumming workshop.
•    A fairtade workshop
•    Interactive sessions
•    And a zoo keeper led tour.

This is ideal for Key stage 2 pupils.
Other education-based days can be arranged to utilise a sensory exhibit, trails and the Zoo Olympics.

Folly Interactive includes a reptile house, an ocean room and a tropical rainforest area.  This exhibit provides an educational experience to test the senses.  With questions posed like, whose poo? What’s that whiff? And the Jungle telegraph children will be engaged and will learn about Marmoset monkeys and Armadillos ( to name just a couple) and rainforest products and conservation.

There is a Welsh learner’s trail which provides visitors with phrases to talk about their day at Folly Farm in Welsh.

There is a prize trail so that the park can be explored with treasure hunt style clues.  The themes change each week and the packs can be sent to you ahead of time or you can pick them up on your arrival.

In celebration of the 2012 Olympics the Zoo Olympics challenges children to measure their climbing, jumping and dancing skills against the abilities of Folly Farm’s wild and wonderful animals.  They can record their scores on the zoo Olympics trail sheet and challenge signs are available as a classroom display pack.

The staff at Folly Farm have years of experience accommodating numbers of school children and provide the extra consideration that controlling a group of school children requires to make the day go smoothly! Secure school locker crates are available.  There is an undercover picnic area, a lunch service available (munch boxes and hot meals) with great discounts.  Goodie bags available for all budgets and a 10% discount on ice creams!

The learning can continue long after their daytrip as Folly Farm’s website has detailed information on all of the animals and they can continue to watch the giraffes on the live webcam.  Pupils can upload their views and thoughts of their day trip on their newshound pages or complete games such as ‘match the paws’ or ‘whose baby’ .
