Referencing the original use of the 1960s basement space at Modern Art Oxford that hosted original new performance and poetry, Mouth gathers ten exciting visual artists, writers and musicians for an innovative evening at the Gallery on Friday 14 May.

These ten artists are brought together by vocalist MacGillivray. Composer and musician, Stevie Wishart will begin the evening and present us with her electronic and computer music technologies and medieval instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy. Joining her will be poet B. Catling who will read alongside Salt published Osage poet and Merton College Rhodes Scholar, Carter Revard. The evening will continue with works from Aaron Williamson, a deaf live artist and poet and Artistic Director of the collective of disability artists '15mm Films', poets Vahni Capildeo and Tom Chivers, singer songwriter D. Gwalia, and visual artist Kate Davis. The night will conclude with a work from musician and acoustic installation artist, David Cunningham.

Expect a powerful evening of sound, poetry and live art from ten cutting edge and up and coming artists.
