thebestofoxford's aim is to showcase and profile the very best businesses in Oxford.

We spent the day in Oxford's prestigious Clarendon Shopping Centre on Friday 5th March with a simple mission; to ask the people of Oxford who their favourite independent businesses are in the city. The response was extraordinary, and it's obvious there are many fine businesses here which need to be shouted about.

During the day, for those who contributed by recommending the best businesses in Oxford, there were three great prizes up for grabs. First up, two sets of dinner for two at Summertown's Spice Lounge Indian Restaurant. Secondly, a free round of golf at North Oxford Golf Club.

The winner of the first Dinner for Two is Catherine Wolfe-Smith. The second winner is for dinner at Spice Lounge is Elaine Tipper. We really hope you enjoy your lunch or dinner at Spice Lounge, and perhaps you'd be good enough to write a testimonial for us about your experience there.

The winner for the day of golf goes to Carole Franklin. If you haven't been to North Oxford Golf Club before, now is your chance to try it out! We hope you have a lovely day out there.
