It has been a long while since we had Channel 6; based on Woodstock Road in the building currently occupied by Jack FM (it used to be purple).
I'm proud to say I was featured a couple of times on our 'local TV channel'. However, I would be surprised if anyone other than my family and I remember my claim to fame!
Maybe the time is right, now, for local television to really play an important part in our lives. More people seem interested in supporting their communities and independant businesses.
Richard Horwood said: "Broadcast quality local TV will significantly enhance the UK's media landscape and, as (culture secretary) Mr Hunt has noted, address the lack of opportunities for local voices in our broadcasting sector, offering a new voice for local communities, with local perspectives that are directly relevant to them."
