The national award recognises the firm that does the most to make a positive impact on the community and to change peoples' lives. Judges were looking for a clear Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that not only positively impacts on the community but which is also sustainable.
Darbys were congratulated for the PURPLE garden for which they are raising funds (and which their staff help to maintain) for patients and their families at the new cancer hospital in Oxford, for the work their staff do with children at local schools and for their efforts to make the office a “greener “ environment in which to work.
Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Darbys, partner Jenny Harvey, says "We do a lot of work on these fronts, not to win awards but to really try to make a difference.”
Darbys Managing Partner Simon McCrum says "I am proud of Jenny and all of our people who give up their time and money to get involved in the community.. Big businesses like us can make a real difference to peoples' lives. Care, both for our people and for other less fortunate people, is one of the three pillars of our business strategy. It is great that our team's efforts have received this award - well done them."
