Press Release from Green Homes Together:

Green Homes Together, with the support of 15 local authorities across Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Berkshire, are offering residents up to 100% funding towards loft and cavity wall insulation as part of a wider scheme aimed at improving the warmth and comfort of homes.

Funding comes from the Energy Company Obligation ('ECO'), where large energy suppliers are required to help people make their homes more energy efficient.

On average, a quarter of the heat in a typical home is lost when a loft is not insulated and this makes it very difficult to keep the house warm without increasing heating bills considerably.

Additionally, many homes built after the 1930’s are likely to have cavity walls and, typically, 35 per cent of the heat is lost as they are not insulated either.

The good news is that funding is available to make homes more energy efficient through the Energy

Company Obligation, which requires large energy suppliers to help people who require insulation.

Green Homes Together is a Community Interest Company, established to help make homes cosier and cheaper to run through energy efficiency improvements.
