The Northampton Borough Council

Do you know what?  I've just had a meeting with David Kennedy and his team at Northampton Borough Council and I have to say, what a fantastic, courteous and forward thinking group they are.  I am really very impressed with their plans for the Market Square - the new fountain, the new amazing lighting and the events they're putting on - it's going to transform the Market Square and make it a delight to go to.  Can't wait!

We've all been out and about this week and the feedback from the magazine has been fantastic.

Matt Bearman at Golfers Choice has had no end of people stopping him to let him know that they've read his write up.

Premier Inn emailed us to thank us for the article and has had a great response.

Gardners Bakery delivery man has been stopped a couple of times to be told that people have read their feature in the 'Buy Local' magazine.

Duncan Clark from Horts emailed us to say that a lady called him just 20 minutes after the magazine had dropped through her door!

Northampton Vehicle Repairers have had a lot of enquiries from theirs and Chelsea Hire are pretty banged out with work this time of year anyway, but it seems that many people have read their feature and congratulated them on their sterling business!

We welcome some new members this week:

Crown Executive Cars - a great, well established chauffeur driven car service that provides spotlessly clean Mercedes, super courteous, smart staff and friendly customer service to both business clients and members of the public.  They aren't a taxi service, rather an executive travel company.  Welcome aboard, John and Gill Facci!

The Worlds End has just joined us - fantastic place, great food and really smart surroundings.  Hey, whilst I was there, Andy, the owner told me that his IT system was playing up, but his support team (who are from Oxford) couldn't come out to him until Tuesday next week! WHHAAAT?!!!!  I mean, we're running a restaurant and hotel here, guys!

Well, after a quick phone call to the guys at Milenium, they were on the case within 20 minutes and were identifying the problem as I left.  How's that for service and how's that for the power of local marketing!

Braunstone Reprographics - a family concern based in Talbot Road, Janet, Chris and Beth run a really brilliant company providing digital printing & groovy design.  I really needed a pop up banner for last Wednesday but didn't know how to get one within 24 hours.  But the guys from Braunstone Reprographics did it in just 10 hours for me.  Great stuff!

The Comms Group have rejoined as members of thebestofnorthampton - so, welcome back to Matt Tarry and his team - it'll be good to see you at our networking evenings.

Sauls of Spratton have become members of ours, so we welcome Christopher and his team.  If you've never had one of their pork rolls at the Saints where they have a stand, you're really missing a treat.

The Bank Holiday weekend awaits - hoorah! Lots going on in Northampton.  The better half is playing golf as I write this (peace for once!!) and I am going to put my feet up tonight and watch the telly - a rare treat.

We're out at The Vineyard tomorrow night and at a party on Sunday.  Hopefully will get a game of tennis in at Rushden Road Tennis Club sometime over the weekend.

Have a great weekend - chill and have fun!
