Tack And Horse Box Thefts In Nearby Counties Warning By Harborough Police

This is a message for all Countryside Watch members and Key Individuals from Harborough Police.

During the last week our colleagues in Northants police have reported 3 crimes in the areas of Long Buckby, West Haddon and Crick involving the theft of tack and a horse box.

These villages are only a few miles over our southern border and as such Harborough Police would urge all equestrian establishments to be vigilant regarding the security of their tack as well as their vehicles and trailers.

In addition to this Harborough police would ask all our members to report anything suspicious that they see to the police immediately on 0116 222 2222.

If you are suspicious about a person or vehicle, you probably have good reason – even if you can’t explain why. By telling us all the details you may be helping us to catch a thief and thus to reduce crime in your local area.

By working together we can deny the thieves the freedom of movement that they need to succeed – by reporting every suspicious incident that you witness, you can help your local Neighbourhood Police Officers to take these criminals on and make the areas where you all live and work that much safer.

For further crime prevention advice please feel free to contact me on 0116 222 2222 ext:- 3875.
