A handy shopping guide has been produced to showcase Market Harborough’s diverse range of shops, restaurants and businesses.

The Market Harborough Town Centre Shopping Guide has been put together ready to be distributed to shops, and the town library from Friday, September 11.

It will also be handed out at the town’s popular Arts Fresco event taking place on Sunday, September 13.

The six-page, colour guide will be given out free and has been put together by Harborough Improvement Team, with support from Harborough District Council, Welland Sub-Regional Strategic Partnership, Harborough Against Retail Theft, Community Safety Partnership and the Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

The idea was borne out of a recent Business Networking event, held at the council offices in Market Harborough, where retailers called for an easy-to-use shopping brochure to be made available.

The guide will include:

  • Map of the town
  • Colour-coded guide to the town centre
  • Car parking information
  • Information on independent shops and businesses
  • Late Night Shopping details

It has been welcomed by the Buzzing Business group, made up of Harborough District Council and Chamber of Trade representatives, which promotes good news stories in the local business community.

Sue Smith, Harborough District Council chief executive, said: “People are attracted to Market Harborough because it has a good mixture of well known and trusted retailers combined with some exceptional local shops and restaurants.”
