Charities and community groups are being invited to make use of Harborough Theatre to help raise funds for good causes.

The Market Harborough Drama Society wants groups to get involved with theatre Gala Nights…which are special charity performances held to mark the opening of a new play or show.

The Society holds two gala nights each year…staging an extra performance of a play, on a Monday night, and a local charity or community group benefits by selling the tickets and keeping the box office income.

They can include a supper or treat of some kind, if they can arrange the catering, and a raffle.

The charity pays £200 to cover the performing rights and similar unavoidable theatre costs, and then has 118 tickets to sell to their supporters.

Any charity or community group can apply to be considered for a theatre Gala Night, by writing to Market Harborough Drama Society Secretary, Jenny Hirst, at 5 Ashfield Road, Market Harborough, LE16 7LX.
