The Arts Fresco event in Market Harborough was an absolute success yet again. Thousands of people from all over the country flocked to our town to enjoy the entertainment that is Arts Fresco. There were dancers in the square who even got the crowds to join in with a routine put together on the spot. Punch and Judy were at the corner of High Street and Church Street in front of Joules entertaining the children (young and old). There was also another puppet show in Coventry Road along with face painting (Dalmatians) and a steel band outside Enigma. One of the funniest things I saw was the musical nun whizzing around town with a motorized piano. I missed the Ant Orchestra which was a shame but the general buzz around town made up for that.

Quite a number of the retailers opened especially for the event including Lavender Blue and TJ Thornton’s along with numerous restaurants and eateries such as The Rio Bravo, Webbs Café Bistro and The Angel Hotel who all reported things were busy in one way or another. Harborough FM were reporting live from the event and managed to portray the good feeling and upbeat feel of the town over the airwaves.

For the Children the local Artists Cluster put on The Big Draw with an opportunity for them to do colouring, drawing and model making. Sponsorship by The Angel Hotel with materials supplied by local craft emporium Nimble Fingerz. All local professional artist gave their time free to carry out the event and the kids had great fun.

Can't wait for next year and would like to say a big WELL DONE to all the committee involved with Arts Fresco for an astounding job yet again.
