Christmas starts tonight in Lichfield...
Tonight, 26th November, is the big Christmas lights switch on, so get wrapped up warm and head into town. The star of the show is Lichfield's 2nd most famous resident, Shaun Smith, finalist in this year's Britain's got Talent.
This year, there's a special family christmas decorations workshop and refreshments from 5pm at the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum.
The festivities then kick off at 6.40pm with carol singing from Christchurch School (again!). The lights will then be switched on by Shaun Smith after the traditional countdown. Don't dash off, because then Santa is coming along in his sleigh to say hello.
If you're left in town after the crowds have gone, feeling festive and happy but wondering what to do with the rest of the night, why not round the night off at one of Lichfield's best restaurants. We recommend English House, Eastern Eye or Ruby, depending on which country's cuisine you're in the mood for.
