Ruby Cantonese Restaurant - the original Lichfield Chinese restaurant serving authentic oriental food. The restaurant is situated in one of Lichfield's beautiful listed buildings with low ceilings and exposed oak beams. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is delicious and the service is perfect. The only Chinese restaurant with alfreso dining in their garden restaurant.

Tommy and Norreena Ho opened Ruby, the first Chinese restaurant in Lichfield, over 25 years ago and they have nurtured it ever since, creating a Lichfield institution by serving top quality Cantonese and Chinese cuisine in cosy, friendly surroundings. Norreena and Tommy are still there every day, greeting regular and new diners and welcoming them to Ruby.
The main feature at Ruby is of course the mouth watering cuisine and we have an extensive menu of classic Cantonese and Chinese dishes. If the choice is too dazzling, ask our waiters for their recommendations. All dishes are freshly cooked using the best ingredients - you can even watch the chefs at work in the open kitchens.

We absolutely love our food at the Kitchen Shop but the Ruby is by far one of our favourite places to eat. It is by far the best Cantonese & Chinese Restaurant in the area! You cannot fault the service and the food is always amazing and plentiful! No one ever leaves hungry! Well done on a great job as always for so many years!

Visited The Ruby last night to attend a business event, I haven't been for quite a while so it was nice to be there. The food was superb with a taster banquet menu, service was prompt and polite there is absolutely nothing to fault, thank you. I shall try to get back more often.

We recommend the Ruby because it has excellent food, in an excellent environment with a warm welcome from the host/owner.
Did not live up to its reputation, ordered a set meal out of which we only had 2 items. Then we were accused of having eaten it and asked if we'd quite had enough yet (as though we'd already eaten it all) I then, still being hungry wanted my coffee and the waiter raised his eyebrows at me! Wasn't entirely satisfied!

One of the nicest meals we have had in a long time! The food was lovely, the atmosphere of the building made us feel right at home and the staff where just fantastic! A wonderful place to enjoy a lovely meal, we will definitely be going back!
Set in a lovely quaint little building, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff are extremely hospitable and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. This has always been my favourite restaurant. The food is superb, cooked fresh and very flavoursome with a fantastic menu choice. The 'eat all you can' option represents outstanding value for money without compromising on quality. You must try the spare ribs, they're the best spare ribs I've ever tasted! King Prawn satay is also delicious. Booked again and looking forward to dining with my friends for my birthday celebration.
