Visited yesterday to lay a memorial wreath on the Burma Star memorial for mygrandad on his birthday 29th Feb. There are so many volunteers around always offering help and assistance. We had a lovely lunch again. The catering team are wonderful, and the food was again lovely.
Great staff all round. Cant wait to visit in the warmer weather when things are in bloom.

I went to pay my respects to some men that I served with who died in service.

The Arboretum is truly a wonderful memorial to the hundreds of dead men and women who were killed serving their country, not only in two world wars, but also in many other conflicts throughout the world right up to the present day.

No one seems to have been missed out, there are memorials to everyone, nurses, policemen, merchant sailors, soldiers, sailors, airmen, killed in wartime and peacetime.

The whole memorial is spotless and has an wonderful kind of aura about it, such that it seemed that it would be irreverent to take photographs.

My wife and me found our visit to be a wonderful experience and would recommend a visit there to anyone

We stopped of here to break a journey as it was somewhere we’d heard about but hadn’t seen. We didn’t see it at its best due to the flooding but it really is a special place and we will return in better weather. One point - although entry is free, parking isn’t. We didn’t begrudge paying at as it all goes towards the charity, but the website makes a point of saying that entry is free so perhaps it should also say that there is a charge for parking.

A place where you can go pay your respects to those that have fallen in the line of duty since the 2nd World War. The first Sat in Oct, every year a pilgimage is made every year by thousands of bikers, mostly ex-military from all over the UK and pasrts of Europe. The day si named Ride to the Wall (RRTW) and there can be thousands of bikes there. Avery emotional, sad but happy experience.

This place is worth a visit for those who haven't been, have you walking shoes on as the Arboretum is spread over a vast area, you can get a land train tour which give you a talk about each memorial that you pass, all the details about why the memorial is there, there are plots there for the unexpected, it is not just for the forces, after hours of walking, there is a fabulous restaurant for lunch or just a snack, enjoy it's well worth it

When my neighbour & I visited. the local river had burst its Banks and flooded the grounds. Lots to see & to think about. Great shame of all those brave people who lost their lives in pointless wars?. A must visit for everyone & please make a donation. I also recommend the excellent restaurant.

We visited this site. What a great place. So sad yet so moving. Shame we did not have the time to do it all. Another visit is on the cards. The staff were so very helpful. Shame the weather had flooded some of the areas. Visit on a dry day when weather is better. We visited Galipolli last Dec.2019 and at the Nat. Mem.Arboretum we saw the Turkish dedication area. I think the Turkish people would be proud to know that they are also part of the past that is so important to all. As do the Turkish recognise the WW1 Tommy and others in Galipolli(Chanakkale)

Much larger than we expected. So many names listed of all those who gave their lives in service of the nation since the end of WW2 - we had no idea their were so many. Also many memorials to individual regiments spread over a large area. Allow plenty of time. Helpful volunteer staff and a nice eating area.
