Have been several times, so I took a friend who has wanted to go for a long time, she really enjoyed it. We went on the train ride round nice and relaxing and the commentary was very good, well worth the money. The staff are very helpful and the cafe is well priced. Good day out.

Sombre and slightly surreal national memorial to the millions fallen, in thousands of battles around the world. Not just the armed service men and women, but emergency service personal and many, many more too set in acre upon acre of beutiful manicured scenery, lakes and river. Stunning buildings and monuments , lovely cafe/restaurant /facilities too. Free entry, massive car parks , cars £4 all day.
Optional guided tours on road- train or golf buggies £7. Pre - booking advised to avoid disappointment. Open 7 days. A must visit day out of remembrance.

This is my second visit, and wow has it grown, we had two coach loads of armed forces veterans, with our lord mayor, you need a full day to get round, what is good you can hire mobility scooters, and there is a train with coaches to take you round the site, with a commentary as you go round for them that cannot walk far, we all sat down to afternoon tea laid on for us in there banquet hall, and that was top class catering,, a very good day out for us old timers.

What a lovely 😍 day we had. You need 2 days to get round the whole place to look round properly. We are definitely going again. Brilliant place for wheelchair users which they do supply but you need to book it for the day.

Very large, well manicured and landscaped area dotted with 300+ memorials to armed forces and emergency services.
There are many beautiful and creative sculptures for different regiments or groups of people, as well as smaller plaques and dedications on trees for individuals, flower beds and arrangements and some more detailed explanations about events in which people have given their lives so that we may enjoy ours.

In particular, the exhibition on Japanese POW camps was very informative, though incredibly harrowing. Definitely recommend putting yourself through the experience, it makes you appreciate the relative comfort in which we live now.

Unbelievable

Well organised, well kept gardens. Some areas do need a little TLC and maintenance as some of the further away monuments have the tree plaques overgrown or not visible.

Amazing tribute to all heroes, only wish we had more time to explore, the moving train around the grounds is a great idea.
