Proudly bearing the name of one of the City's illustrious sons, the Garrick is a superb venue, fresh and modern with a splendid auditorium and lovely staff. Everyone is made very welcome here and the facilities throughout are first class.
We look forward to returning for future shows.

the players portraying the story of buddy holly and the way it was acted out was excellent. Very well produced andlayed in what is a smallish theatre. The lead who played buddy was just superb. Big bopper was great and Richie valance brilliant. An excellent piece of entertainment

I've been to the Garrick many times & it is a good little theatre & puts on some good shows. For the first time last night I went to a production of the Hot Mikado in the Studio Theatre. It's a small arena with seating on 3 sides & the audience is very close to the stage. I won't do a review of Hot Mikado but it was worth seeing & had a young cast with a couple of good players. Not sure if it was to do with the theatre or the cast, but their radio mikes played up all night which spoiled it a bit. The seating was a bit cramped & rather uncomfortable but all in all, the Studio is a good place for a small production.

Attended the Lichfield Garrick Theatre last night to see The Business of Murder by Richard Harris. What an excellent play the actors were brilliant, you could hear a pin drop in the theatre everyone was so engrossed. The theatre itself is so lovely and welcoming. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Would recommend a trip to the Garrick so check out their website to see what is forthcoming.

Good theatre in a great location. The drinks were reasonably priced for a theatre and the seating and viewing were good.

First visit to the Garrick, thanks to my daughters Christmas present of two tickets to see Songbird The Music of Eva Cassidy.
Easy to find with free multi-storey parking (after1830) next door.
What a nice friendly place all staff were helpful and polite .Theatre was clean and the smart. We had seats four rows from front in the middle of the row.
Seats were comfortable with good leg room .

We have visited quite a few productions here and have been impressed by the venue each time. The theatre is bright and modern and has a restaurant and bar with cosy sitting
Armchairs from which to enjoy a drink or coffee either before the show or during. The sitting in the auditorium is good with plenty of legroom and not too many rows of seats so that you can see the stage from any position. There is a multi car park directly behind the theatre which is free to use after 6.00 pm and so travelling and parking are no problem. It is a pity that other theatres are not so accessible and a delight to visit.

Loved this - I attended the Garrick to see Jason Manford play live - I had my reservations how this would work out as i've been a few times to see small productions as well as talks - but I wasn't disappointed - the Garrick is a great venue which is very versatile.

Went on Boxing day and it was magical. Lots of children dressed up and their excitement was well justified. The show was superb from start to finish with lots of innuendoes for adults and comedy for the children. The costumes were excellent the scenery was very good and Cinderella's coach was magical. The music was good and all of the cast were excellent singers/dancers. Don't understand why there are no other reviews on here....

We thought that the 2014 pantomime, Cinderella, was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it from begining to end. It was clear from audience reaction that our view was shared. I can honestly say it was the best we have seen for many years.

We visited the studio theatre at the Garrick in Lichfield. There were no Front of House staff in the theatre. a man took our tickets outside & instructed us to walk across the set to the far side to our seats. Our seats were actually on the near side. It was not easy to find your seat. Numbers were marked on the floor & not visible until you were on top of it. We noticed many people having to move because they were in the wrong seats. The rake is very steep & not suitable for older theatre goers. The seats are very narrow & uncomfortable. At the beginning of the performance a member of staff entered & sat at the back. I dread to think what would have happened if there had been an emergency evacuation. Very disappointing visit. will not go again.

I was lucky enough to win a night out for two to see A Vision of Elvis starring Rob Kinglsey last Saturday evening. My friend and I had an absolutely fantastic time, starting with pre-show drinks in the Green Room Bar/Cafe, we collected tickets from the very friendly staff in the Box Office and took our seats in the Stalls. This was our first visit to The Garrick, and won't be our last - comfy seats, plenty of leg room and excellent views of the stage. My friend and I had an absolutely fantastic evening. Rob (as Elvis) started the concert with Elvis at Sun Studios, progressed to his GI days, films and Las Vegas showtime - we enjoyed every minute. Planning my next visit!

We've been to see four productions this year so far and all have been wonderful but last week's production of 'Phantom of the Opera' by Lichfield Youth Theatre was superb. A truly memorable show. We are so lucky to have the Garrick on our doorstep.

Having seen the Christmas panto and two other shows since then, we really must keep this gem in Lichfield. The theatre is struggling for funds but we would happily pay an increase of 50p to £1 in tickets if it went to support he theatre.

We are so lucky to have this theatre - it is a gem. Wonderful productions of varied genres. We are able to widen our knowledge of theatre at very reasonable prices. Why go to Birmingham when we have the Garrick on our doorstep?

With The Lichfield Garrick Artistic and Musical Director, Adrian Jackson, at the helm it’s no surprise that the overall setting of this show is very much rooted in musical theatre rather than pantomime.

It is billed as a Christmas Circus Musical and with theatres across the region trying to outdo each other with alternative seasonal outings, it seems the rush to be bigger and better has possibly diminished the fun atmosphere, preferring a more formal level of production.

There are overtones of the big West End shows, Disney, Hollywood musicals, variety and the Circus and although those elements are well-staged and segued it does make for a slightly unfocused production.

Steve Huison of Coronation Street and the film The Full Monty fame plays the White Rabbit and effectively linked Alice’s journey through wonderland, although you would not have known it was him under the layers of costume and makeup.

Alice played by newcomer Laura Baldwin has a fantastic Disney quality to her voice and set against some quality arrangements, played live by the excellent Wonderland band, created some spell binding moments through the evening and can be proud of her first professional role.

Alice in Wonderland is directed by Ian Adams who also plays The Caterpillar, The Duchess and the Mad Hatter and for me was the highlight of the show. His vibrant personality, dancing and showmanship added a true Christmas flavour, offering the closest we got on the night to a Panto Dame when appearing as The Duchess during the wonderful Latin American kitchen scene.

Christina Thornton, like many others in the cast, played multiple roles, hers being Alice’s Mother, The Cook and The Queen of Hearts. Being an original member of the cast of Evita and now with a long list of musical credits to her name, proved how much this show relies on elements of musical theatre. Her delivery was assured, mature and confident.

A great part of the staging was the use of a revolving turntable, doubling visually as a circus ring, which delivered an assortment of props and occasionally some of the wonderful young children in the production on to stage in a variety of comical disguises.

The choreography throughout by Julie Paton was of a very high standard ranging from contemporary ballet to a couple of great tap dance routines.

Another high point was the sound. This for me is often a let-down of so many professional touring shows and the in-house Garrick team seemed to have benefitted from having the time to develop a great balance between the orchestra and the vocalists.

Although it is billed as a family show it is a production that clearly caters for a sophisticated theatre audience more so than young children and it would have been nice to see a little more raw comedy to include them at some point.

Make no mistake this is a highly coordinated and professional show with great costumes and staging and it’s marvellous to see and hear this level of West End quality out of London. It is also commendable to offer something different to the traditional panto but other than the inclusion of a tree and few other Christmas props this is a show that would most likely be successful in any month and I guess I was hoping at this time of the year for a bit more wonder in wonderland.

Slick, professional and thoroughly entertaining are the words which describe this musical production of Alice in Wonderland.

A talented cast brought the children’s classic to life with an impressive two storey stage, which included a hidden elevator to help tell the complex tale of Alice and the rabbit hole.

Fantastic choreography and costumes, pyrotechnics, acrobatics, ballet, tap and ribbon dancing, balloons which fell into the audience, stairs that illuminated when trodden on and festive Garrick favourite Ian Adams with his slapstick comedy as the Mad Hatter, caterpillar and the Duchess, kept my young children, aged five and seven, entertained.

Laura Baldwin was a perfect Alice, Christina Thornton was a fabulous Queen of Hearts and Steve Huison entertained as the rabbit.
