I went to the lichfield Christmas market with friends and as I'd never been there my friends took me on a very short but lovely walk over to the cathedral.
What a place I can't believe it's so beautiful, if you like this type of thing you have to visit.
There's a donation request upon entry but that's at your discretion so give what you can to help as I believe it goes to the upkeep of this fantastic building.

We visit a lot of cathedrals and this is amongst the finest. It was a Sunday afternoon as the Advent service was being set up but was not too busy. The cathedral is built in the traditional style with a long nave and transepts. We didn’t have time to explore the Christmas tree exhibition but it looked interesting. Outside, the stonework is stunning, with scores of statues adorning the west wall.

Really enjoyed our visit to the Cathedral at the weekend. Seeing all the trees decorated was quite something. A lot of effort by the various groups. Worth a visit

Myself and the family went here from the Christmas market it was really cool. You pay by a donation whatever you want. It is really nice inside. Loads of history. Really liked it.

A really atmospheric and special evening We were taken around the cathedral by candlelit We were reminded that this is what the cathedral would have been like in the middle ages and to remember the thousands who would have been in this sacred space. We were also shown special carvings .the Lichfield Angel and so much more. What a way to experience this great building

Went on a ghost walk around Lichfield. The places & stories were rubbish, but the walk was nice & the cathedral exterior at night is beautiful!

Compared to other UK cathedrals, Lichfield must rank very highly indeed. It may not have the grandeur of many but it is grand in its own right. What it may lack superficial, it makes up for, with its historic architecture and the history of the place that seems to seep from its very walls. It truly is beautiful, a must do, should you be in the area.
We took a FREE guided tour at 14:00hrs, which took about 45 minutes. 1 guide chaperoning 4 visitors, heavenly!
What an education we had, our guide was superb, so knowledgeable, the facts flew and she made it sound so interesting, as if it was the first tour of the week.
Professional to the core, congratulations and a huge thank you!
Entrance to the cathedral was free, donations were discretionary. A wonderful 2 hr visit.
A great loss for yourself if you are in Lichfield and you don’t call in!

We had a tour of the cathedral on Thursday 21 November 2019 at 11.00. Margaret was an excellent guide - her knowledge was extensive and she imparted many fascinating facts which made the visit so memorable. She took time to answer our questions and we would happily have spent more time with her. We strongly recommend this tour.

Interesting Cathedral. They were just setting up for Bach music in the afternoon. Pleased to see it was free to enter, so many make a charge to enter. Bought a thimble at cathedral shop as I collect them. Worth walking to from the town.
