An impressive place with with a relaxed atmosphere. Whilst we were there the condolence book for Stephen Sutton was there, which just seemed to make our visit a little more special

The cathedral is peaceful and calm - lovely building set in attractive grounds with good river walks nearby - nice to combine a short visit with shopping/dining in town

A beautiful building and if not busy is ideal for quiet reflection. Parking can be tricky though plenty of public carparks near by

What a grand piece of architecture. We were greeted by friendly staff who were very willing to help us.Very interesting place indeed we were allowed up some stairs to a small prayer chapel which was ideal has we had just lost a friend recently and could not make the funeral so this was ideal to say a little prayer. If in the area again we would definately visit, and have already recommended it friends and family.

We did not expect such a varied experience from a cathedral visit. There was a lady at the door handing out guidance leaflets, which were useful as there many small areas of interest as well as a service taking place; an art exhibition; historical exhibition and much more to see. All areas had explanatory boards and there were people on hand to assist if further information was required. Also a gift shop at the exit area.

If you enjoy visiting cathedrals, Lichfield is definitely worth a visit. I was given a friendly welcome at the door where I was handed a leaflet. There is probably a guide book but it wasn't in evidence. The leaflet takes you round most of the main sites but only superficially and it leaves out important things such as David Garrick's memorial. There is currently a calligraphy exhibition on which is interesting but I was disappointed in the very few items from the Staffordshire Hoard which are on display. I was expecting more. The whole visit took around an hour which represents how much there is to see. Recommended.

There is a true feeling of spiritual peace in this cathedral. The liturgy is among the finest examples of Anglicanism at its best, and the volunteer staff always offer a warm and friendly welcome. Lichfield Cathedral has had a special place in my heart since 1971, and is one of true spiritual homes.

When visiting the UK, we like to visit a cathedral, not because of any religious beliefs but because they are steeped in history. Lichfield Cathedral is not quite so stunning as others we have visited, e.g. Canterbury, Winchester, Norwich, York, Durham, but it is nevertheless a great place to visit

We have visited the Cathedral many times to see the Staffordshire Hoard exhibition, for Carol Concerts that my daughter has sung in as a member of the choir, plus watched The Mysteries plays there. Every time we visit we are inspired all over again by the size of the Cathedral and the acoustics which are so powerful, especially when listening to children singing or a star appearing at the Lichfield Festival. The most special visit for us was when the Staffordshire Hoard was presented within the Cathedral - the fact the hoard was found near to Lichfield made it doubly exciting to visit.

An amazing place to visit and sing in. I was a member of what used to be called the "Lichfield Cathedral Special Choir" in the '80's and have spent many happy hours in the cathedral. Definitely a MUST on your visit to Lichfield!

I have been many times to the Cathedral living locally to it but I have had occasion to take Australian cousins there. They don't have anything like it at home and were overwhelmed by the architecture. It is well worth including other attractions such as Erasmus Darwin House, Samuel Johnsons Birthplace and a bite to eat in one of the many cafes in Lichfield.

The staff are friendy and engaging, and allow you complete access with your camera to every beautiful feature in this historic cathedral. Should be of particular interest to those who admire the Victorian architect Sir George Gilbert Scott, and important English Civil War battles.

The 3 spires are impressive and can be seen from around the city. It's a smaller cathedral than many and the stone stemmed softer making it feel warmer. Nice to walk around cathedral close.

I believe that Lichfield Cathedral is the only medieval cathedral to have 3 spires. The cathedral is beautiful inside and has an impressive Rose Window. On special days tours are available to tread the steps to the top of the tower to see a magnificent panorama of the surrounding countryside. In winter months candle lit tours are organised. The cathedral is set in an attractive Close and is adjacent to the City Centre.

A friend from London asked what is there to see in Lichfield? My answer: The only mediæval cathedral with three spires, the shrine of St Chad and a wonderful place of spirituality. Look out for the magnificent Lichfield Gospels and the 'Lichfield Angel.' Next year the superb Herckenrode glass returns from its multi-million pound restoration, so enjoy the Lady Chapel while it is still bathed in pure white light.

You just have to see it! Still cannot understand how people in the 13th century could build such a beaty!
