I now live in Lichfield and the cathedral is one of my favourite places to visit. It's a beautiful piece of history which can be appreciated by people of all ages. Really well kept and all the staff are incredibly polite and helpful.
Also, if you're ever in the area for their light shows, make sure you get a ticket! They have them a few times a year and they are just magical.

I hadn't even heard of Lichfield cathedral until last Christmas and that is criminal! It is richly exquisite, inside and out. I particularly liked that there was actual worship going on, it is a Christian cathedral in use rather than "a pretty building". In fact I liked it so much I went back and gave them my entrance donation (no set fee) again at the end. In the chapter house the Anglo-Saxon artefacts are just amazing - 1300 year old gospel, anyone?

The cathedral in Lichfield is constantly changing, it is a true tourist attraction. the Shop at Number 9 can provide information on ticketed events and the coffee houses on the outskirts of the cloisters are affordable and convenient.
The cathedral itself is well maintained and has lots of history and things to see. if you are in the area its worth taking a small detour to spend 30 - 60 min exploring the inside.

A group of us went to have a look around - so well preserved and very well cared for. The façade is incredible with all the saints, kings and angels statues - if you are in the area it is well worth a visit.

This is a must see if you ever visit Lichfield. Free entry but you can make a donation as it cost around £8000 per day for the upkeep of this wonderful Cathedral. You don't realise its size and beauty until you enter. The inside of this Cathedral is as magnificent inside as it is outside.

Wonderful park for children, adults and dogs. Nature walk, great children's play area, crazy golf and pitch and put. Also go carts and bouncy castles in the summer. There are also special events in the summer. Just a great facility for the City.

The Cathedral is so interesting there is always something new to see it seems it is well worth listening to the volunteer guides as there is so much history which you would otherwise pass by

Lichfield Cathedral ranks alongside any in the U.K. Its history is long and rich and it was significant in the Civil War. Today it is carefully managed and has a vibrant music chapter and stunning cathedral organ. The choristers are superb and all services moving. Well worth a visit and a financial donation.

Such a magnificent Cathedral. Even more special knowing that my ancestors way back in 1748, 1676 and even 1569 married there. Well worth a visit. A really good afternoon spent there. The staff are so helpful too.

Lovely soaring interior and colourful stained glass. We were disappointed that there was no info available on the architecture of the building, not even about the unusual fact that it has three spires. The only option was the £5 guidebook, but that was mostly about the tombs, monuments and glass, not the structure.
A lady offered to show us round but said she didnt know much about the architecture.
The highlights if the visit for me were the detailed interactive display about the stained glass (excellent) and the Chapter House - because of the very knowledgeable and nice lady in the Chapter House. We had a very interesting conversation about the Staffordshire Hoard, of which there are a few pieces on display. She seemed to pick up on the fact that we are fairly knowledgeable on this sort of subject, and pitched what she said accordingly, which was refreshing, and meant we learnt a lot. Thank you!

Lichfield Cathedral is one of the most beautiful and interesting buildings I've ever been to. The staff were friendly and helpful and the area surrounding the cathedral would rival any of the better known historic towns or cities in the country. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone who enjoys history or architecture.

I don't know what it is about the cathedral that makes me fell humble, happy, great full and at times a little emotional.
And all this from a "hatch match and dispatch only" type of person. I really enjoy having such an amazing building on my doorstep.
One distinctly un Christian thing I noticed. When my elderly mother asked if the Mulled Wine was included in the price of the light show, she was openly giggled at as she turned away. There was no signs stating prices etc, and I felt it was a simple mistake that should not have been ridiculed.

We will not burden you with the tedium of ancient history of this building. You can find this anywhere. What is striking is the giant scale of the interior. The soaring roof, how did they ever build that? The huge supporting columns and the coruscating stained glass windows. What a spectacle!

I live in Lichfield and would definatly say anyone visiting lichfield must see our cathedral. It is very impressive if i say so myself with its three spires. Full of history and with glorious windows etc.

I went the Cathedral with my 2.5 year old son to see the Christmas Lights, Tree and many Angels

Lichfield Cathedral is a really lovely place to visit I sang there at Christmas with the Wi choir, which was formed for the most part by the Hammerwych TA Roudles, Hammerwych WI. Lichfield is steeped in history, being the birthplace of Dr Johnson. Shopping is excellent and easy to reach by road and rail.
Following a WI trip to Chatsworth House, (Derbyshire I believe), I am moved to report that their Christmas craft
market and decorated house. - indoors, theme was The Nutcracker, to complement the very helpful staff on their pleasantness and willingness to assist and help. It was a wonderful and memorable day.
Above being said, we have once again booked a holiday to the Thompson Gold hotel in Arinell De En Castel, Menorca, The Castel Player. The staff work seemingly tirelessly to make sure all is well with you. Just one thing. The pool staff in the morning are sometimes over zealous when taking your things from the loungers. If you are down there early as I usually are, don't disappear for a moment. However you are sure to have a great time.

Took a five night city break at this hotel on the banks of the Danube. Welcome was very warm and friendly and throughout the reception staff couldn't do enough to help. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the best thing was the view over the river to the parliament building and the chain bridge which was all lit up at night. Service throughout was great and the happy hour each evening helped relax after a busy day sightseeing. Excellent local bistro less then 200m towards chain bridge.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful location but only a few minutes walk to most of the city attractions.

I love Lichfield cathedral as it is a stunning example of what Lichfield has to offer. I was a little disappointed when they started charging an entrance fee. It potentially could become out of the reach of some families which is a shame.
I've enjoyed many services purely by accident and have always been made welcome.
