We're extremely pleased to announce - and to support the event - that the award-winning local South West London-based charity, STEM4, is holding its inaugural fundraising Spring Ball on Saturday 18 May 2013 at the Bank of England Sports Centre in Roehampton.

The marvelous event, to be hosted by double Olympic Gold medalist, James Cracknell, and his wife, TV presenter Beverley Turner, promises to be a glittering evening with first-class entertainment, a charity auction, and fantastic raffle prizes to be won. Can't wait for it... and for such a good cause as well - read on...

STEM4 was founded by Dr Nihara Krause, Consultant Clinical Psychologist. The work of STEM4 includes workshops to schools and a helpful website. WWW.STEM4.ORG.UK focuses on four areas of teenage mental health, introducing lots of practical advice and tips on how teenagers can identify the conditions early together with techniques to combat these debilitating conditions, including the ‘four steps to change’. There is also advice and a comprehensive list of resources for the friends of troubled teens, their families and carers and for schools.

We think you'll agree that STEM4 do stunning and much needed work in the local communities around South West London.

So much so that since its creation in 2011, STEM4 has gone from strength to strength. Its efforts have been recognized both by the Marian Esling Legacy and at the recent Merton Business Awards, where STEM4 won the ‘Commitment to the Community’ Award.

Speaking about the charity’s progress, Dr Krause commented: “It’s been an incredible first 18 months for STEM4. Our fundraising efforts have meant that we have already been able to work with over 35 local schools, reaching more than 3,000 young people, parents and teachers. It really feels like we are beginning to get these issues out into the open and make a difference.”

“The demands and expectations of teenagers today are greater than they’ve ever been. Its more important than ever that we give young people, along with their parents, teachers and friends, access to the tools, information and support they need as early as possible.

If you would like to see the sterling work continue then here's a great way to support this charity - and you can have a fabulous night out to boot!
