For many couples their wedding day will be the first time that they are the main focus of a camera lens and for some couples this can be a daunting prospect. Being relaxed is therefore so important and is key to great photographs.
You should be able to get on with your photographer and to be able to trust them. If they are too bossy or if they have you doing things that you are not happy with, this could well reflect on the day and it will ultimately show in the final photographs.
It is a good idea to get to know your photographer first and to talk and to make them have an understanding of what your expectations are and what you want from your photographs and your day. Many couples are now having a pre-wedding shoot which can be a great way to relax and have some informal fun photographs before your big day.
On the day most couples will want to have group and a few posed shots with family and friends. Let your photographer know what you want and supply them with a list of the groups that you would like taken and where you would like them taken. Planning here is the key here to make the day go smoothly and to make sure that get the photographs you want in the setting you would like.
Finally, enjoy the day, smile, relax and let the photographer capture those special moments of the day.
