It's bluebells time!

At last! Winter is finally behind us, the clocks have moved forward an hour, and the days are getting noticeably longer. Spring is definitely in the air and we can venture outdoors, blinking in the unfamiliar sunlight that we’re now being treated to.

It's Summer - it's time to get bored

With the summer holidays now in full swing, many of my friends are travelling to the four corners of the world, and because I have no school age children, I don’t tend to travel in summer, so I work and take my holidays at other times of the year.

Oh what a nice day… but are we all missing it?

I was reading an article yesterday, a link from Facebook as it happens, and found out that the 28th June is National Unplugging Day. Well, if there was something that would make me stop and think, that was it.

At last, a nice, long weekend at home. We’d been away most weekends this year, so it was good to spend four whole days chez nous, with nothing to do except…. spring clean the house!

Last month I did go on about how much I was not keen on Valentine’s Day. However, Mother’s day is rather different.   Yes I know, it’s probably become yet another reason for retailers to sell us stuff, but I think it should be used as an “excuse” just to spend some time with your mum.

No sooner we are out of Christmas and the New Year sales, than the shops fill out with more types of red themed paraphernalia:  Valentine’s Day cards, red roses and everything else turns to heart shaped objects.
