We went here at the weekend and it is the best zoo I have been to in the UK. I enjoyed it more than Marwell, Chester, Bristol, Whipsnade and London Zoo.

Firstly, unlike many other zoos, it is designed so you can actually see and get really close to the animals. There are lots of areas around each enclosure where you can get amazing views of the animals up close and properly overlook into their pens. My boyfriend is a keen photographer and got some of his best animal photos at this zoo.

We went there primarily for a 'Feed the Meerkats' experience I had got him. The experience was £100, which included 30mins feeding the meerkats and entrance into the zoo for both him and myself. This was great as we were able to spend the day at the zoo before the experience, which was at 15:30.

I thought that perhaps he would have to go in and feed them with a group of people and end up fighting to get a meerkat's attention, but it was so much better than that! We had our own keeper and our own enclosure of meerkats and as it was raining, we both went into the house bit, rather than outside in the pen. He sat down with a bowl of vegetables, fruit and pellets and I was able to go in and stand to take photos. He was able to feed and stroke the meerkats and had them climbing all over him - one of them even kept peering into his mouth and tried stroking his teeth - it was hilarious!! After half an hour, the keeper took us to see the baby meerkats which were in another building. We were both able to hold them and have a cuddle - it was amazing!!

This zoo is gerat if you like big cats - there are tigers, leopards, snow leopards, white lions and a lynx. We were able to see the cheetahs and white lions get fed and were very lucky to witness the cheetahs, snow leopards and white lions playing and running around the enclosures - everywhere else we have been they've just been sleeping!

Can't recommend this place enough, we can't wait to go back!!

We visited Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne on the 15th June 2010. We went for the Meet the Red Pandas and Ideal Day experiences. We were met at the discovery centre by keeper Matt for my Meet the Red Panda experience! I also received a t-shirt and certificate. The keeper was 10 minutes late and I kept worrying that I wouldn’t have the full 30 minutes with the Red Pandas, I had paid £99 for the experience! I needn’t have worried; Matt was friendly and gave me his full attention. I was taken to the kitchen to collect the Red Panda fruit, vegetables and bamboo. When we arrived at the Red Panda enclosure the Red Pandas were out waiting for their feed. I was so happy!! I spent the next 30 minutes feeding the Red Pandas and I even got to stroke one of them, Roz. It was a dream come true as I believed there were no contact with the Red Pandas and to be told I could stroke one was unbelievable!!

Straight after my Red Panda experience we were met by Kate another keeper whom took us on our Ideal Day! We visited many animals. Our first stop was the Wallabies and we fed them in their enclosure. We stroked a Tapir and Zebra and then fed the Meerkats, when we entered their enclosure they jumped all over Keith whom had the bowl of mealworms! We got to fly an Eagle Owl called Moby which I adored! It was simply stunning to see a beautiful creature fly straight to your arm! To conclude the tour we then visited the Lions whom we got to feed by hand! I had a Lion lick my fingers!! We were given guidebooks, VIP passes and a complementary lunch with the tour. Kate our keeper was so nice, and went above and beyond her position to give us a wonderful day with the animals!

We stayed at the zoo until 5.30pm. We viewed all the animals in the zoo and liked the Jaguar and got to see the Tigers being fed. I’d recommend Paradise Wildlife Park to anyone in the area and their animal experiences are well worth the money paid as the keepers give you their whole attention and do not rush you when with the animals.
