If your a fan of big cats this is the place for you, there are so many of them, leapoards, cheetahs, lions, tigers etc They are alert and playing and the cheetahs seemed to enjoy posing for the camera!
There are many other different animals, also love the meerkats- v funny!
We went last year in the spring but the weather wasnt great, but we still had a great day, would def go again.
There is also a soft play for the children, which is a nice extra.

This place is very expensive so watch out. They have improved a lot but some of the animal enclosures are stll quite small. Must look into one of their animal experiences.

Went with my wife and in-laws. My brother-in-law and I had a Meerkat experience. 30 minutes feeding the Meerkats and letting them climb all over us-wonderful experience. The rest of the Park was very good, you got close up to many of the animals. The staff, especially Miles who supervised the Meerkat experience, were exceptional. Park was moderately busy, imagine it would be heaving during the school holidays. A thoroughly enjoyable day out.

We decided to take a friend and her husband on the Monkey Tour at Paradise Park for her 60th birthday. We bought the Tour via Buyagift and had to contact Paradise Park directly to arrange the day out.
Melissa at the venue could not have been more helpful, and although we bought the gift before Christmas we did not go until March 2nd. Melissa provided a full list of dates available and at least we chose a dry day even though it was cold!
Getting to the venue and parking is very easy and we had a look around the Park before assembling in a comfortable room where tea, coffee & biscuits were available until our Tour Guide, Glen, arrived.
We then had a full two hour tour of the monkeys and learned a lot from Glen who is very knowledgeable and obviously loves his job with the animals, all who he knows by name!
At the end of the tour we were allowed to go in and feed the Lemurs which really pleased our friend. We were then escorted to a nice restaurant where sandwiches, cakes, tea & coffee was laid on and in ample supply!
All in all a superb experience from start to finish. All the staff at Paradise Park are very friendly & helpful and we would recommend a visit to everyone.

The park itself is quite compact which is good for small children or the less mobile.
The enclosures all looked clean and well maintained but there is no doubt that they are small. That means a real close look at the animals - we were within inches of a Lion for example and its not all behind glass - it was amazing to see him close by. However I felt quite upset to see how small the enclosures are. No roaming about or running for these chaps. I would say this attraction is aimed more towards giving visitors a good time rather than the animals the best possible quality of life.
The other down side is having to pay extra to ride on the train/ play some of the kids games / mini golf etc. The ticket price is costly enough so I felt that was unfair. We used Tesco vouchers but not sure I would go back that soon if we had paid full price. If you stay a whole day it will be because you walk round and round the same things. Its probably suited better for a few hours with younger toddlers / children.

Our second visit to Paradise Wildlife Park in 12 months reveals that this modest, but well run and planned zoo, was in our view a good day out. The park is not far from Potters Bar in Herts, more or less at the top on the M25, is easy to find and has plenty of parking. It also has reasonable disabled access an facilities.

Most of the animals are well presented with the big cats, Lions, White Lions and Tigers, the star attractions and beautiful creatures they are too. A long "jungle" walkway with both steps and a slope for the disabled, prams etc, rises up above the big cat enclosures to afford skyline views. There is also a rather feeble tree house cafe at one end off the walkway, that affords great views of the tigers, but otherwise offers the customer a really poor and expensive experience.

The park also presents some very exciteable limars, penguins, camels, lamas, cats, meercats, otters and all creatures great and small. However the presentation is a bit variable. There is also great emphasis on kids and there is plenty for them to do, once they have become bored with the animals. One side of the park is devoted to the little devils which is probably a good idea, as it gives the animals and other visitors a more peaceful environment.

Also of note the park does seem to have some clever safety features. A traffic light controls cars and a gate prevents exit from the kids park until the cars are halted. The only real downside at Paradise park is that off season most of the refreshment and snack outlets were closed, we also arrived very late, but stll got charged the full price. I think the park has loads to offer, but could improve its catering and commercials and thus make more money in the process.

Excellent day out with lots for the whole family. Clearly a lot of investment continues at this park and it shows - well presented animals with good opportunities to interact with everything from rabbits to camels to reindeer to zebras as well as watching (from a safe distance!) the big cats.

Do not be put off by the name! The zoo is situated in the middle of Broxbourne Woods and is an excellent day out. It is clean. The staff are friendly and the whole place is well run. The animals are in excellent condition and there are lots of animals to look at (e.g. lions, tigers, camels, monkeys, reptiles, snow leopard and lots more). There are several 'play areas' too. Things like a helter skelter were free. I think there was a train too. There are several places to eat but I only went in the snow leopard cafe for a coffee and thought the sandwiches at £4.95 a bit on the expensive side but there are plenty of picnic tables if you want to bring your own. Don't know how much the food in the other cafes cost. Only disappointment was we didn't see the snow leopard as he was in quarantine quarters - we just saw his eyes shining in the dark hut!

I was bought the experience as a birthday present and had a thoroughly good time. The close proximity to most of the animals is quite unusual but the animals appeared to be well looked after.
I got to hand feed lemurs from within their enclosure. There was no pressure on them to feed from us as there was already food for them elsewhere in their enclosure. They seemed to want interaction with us.
There is lots for children to do.

Paradise Wildlife Zoo is a lovely medium size zoo just to the north of London. Enclosures are of a good size and are well designed with raised vieiwng areas making it easier to see the animals.

There is lots for children to do and presentatations from zoo keepers throughout the day. This is an excellent venue in Broxbourne, with the town and its river a good compliment.

What is even better is that if you do not drive there is a free minibus that picks you up and drops you back to Broxbourne station. Broxbourne is only 30 minutes or so from Liverpool Street.

Whether an adult or a child I would highly recommend a day out here.

Took our 2 1/2 year old grandson there on Saturday ( bit cold ) but despite that we had a lovely time. He enjoyed all the rides and attractions, and what we found was good, was he was able to see into all the enclosures either by going up on the viewing points, or just looking on the ground as everything was eye level for him. He was able to feed the meercats and thought that was great fun. It is a nice clean park, and they are currently working on the adventure playground. We would definately go back, when it's warmer as it really is a nice day out. One thing I was very impressed with was they have a special play area for specail children.
TIP - Take lots of pound coins as it cost us £6.00 before we had got into the zoo enclosure on rides !!!!

We (me, husband & 12 yr old daughter) went to Paradise Park for a special celebration and, through Virgin Experiences, booked to 'Meet The Meerkats'.
This was a fabulous experience - you can choose 11.30 am or 3.30 pm. We chose pm as it was supposed to be a 90 minute journey (most of it on the M25) so we didn't want any pressure if stuck in traffic. Good move as M25 was closed from Junc 23 - 25 and we had to find another route.
We made it by 11.30am and enjoyed looking around the zoo before & after lunch. I noted that it looked like a particularly good place children aged 3 - 7yrs old as there was loads of play areas for that sort of age group.
The zoo area was lovely with good vantage points for most of the exhibits - especially as they had wooden walk ways up high which gave great views of the tigers, lions and leopards.
The highlight of our day, however, was our special treat of meeting the meekats. Us, plus another party of 3, gathered at the Discovery Centre at the allotted time. We were intially disappointed that there were to be so many of us but, as we walked through the zoo, we discovered that we were splitting into two groups, so we would be on our own after all.
The very pleasant young keeper took us to a private area away from the public which suited my daughter much better than being on view due to her shyness. We went into an enclosure with 5 of the cutest meerkats and our keeper gave us a bowl of their favourite food.
The meerkats were friendly, curious, inquizitive and lively often wanting to actually jump into the bowl of food! They were not in the least bit threatening and were actually very gentle creatures. They climbed all over us, sat on our shoulders/heads and generally played with us for a full half an hour. It was such fun. Our keeper was taking photos on our camera throughout so we have some great visual memories. We were also each given a certificate and a Paradise Park T-shirt as momentoes.
We would highly recommend the meerkat experience which can be bought direct from Paradise Park or through Virgin Experiences or Buy-a-Gift (the 2 latter companies often have deals such as 2 for 1). There is also a Lemur experience or you can feed the big cats!
It was a great day!

This park has grown alot over the last 10 years. There is something new every time I go.

The animals are great - including my personal favourite - Tapirs.

THe viewing points are good. The tree top cafe overlooking the lions is great. Good selection of animals and the keepers are very friendly.

Away from the animals there are woodland walks, various rides, bouncy castles, outdoor swimming pool, soft play area, swings and climbing frames, assault courses - loads.

And not more than 15 minutes from the M25...

a really lovely place where the animals enclosures are easily viewed from ground level, and walkways that are wide enough for prams take you up above the enclosures for an even better view. when the children have had enough of the animal viewing, there is a lot more to do like the climbing and assault course, and also an indoor soft play area. altogether a good day out

Yesterday I spent nearly 5 hours shadowing the keeper of the big cats. It was a 65th birthday present from my family, and was a fantastic experience. Steve the keeper was very friendly and knowledgable, and helped make it a fun time. I helped clean the tigers cage, prepare foods for the tigers, lions, the cheetah, and the ocelot. With instruction from Steve I hand fed the tigers, and stood beside Steve as he fed the cheetah in her enclosure. What a great birthday present.

What a great park, outside of London. this is my local wildlife centre and its great for a full day out for the family; lots to do and see with every conceivable climbing frame possible. Bring a picnic - as food and refreshments are not good value and the entrance fee comes out quite pricey when there are four of you.

This is a real surprise. Approached via what looks like a residential area the first time I went I wasn't expecting much but once you get there there is a wide variety of some of the world's rarest cats plus other animals. Its not huge so you won't get exhausted walking round it and there are quite a few things for the little ones to do it you have kids; from soft play to rides. Some might say this detracts from the main purpose as a wildlife park but if you have kids then I think you will be thankful for it. As for the cats - they are all in amazing condition and part of essential conservation work so by attending you are really helping them. The only down side is the food - the restaurant is all about the smell of chip fat and the food is all fried. There is a new coffee shop now at the back though where you can get snacks (and cake!) so things are getting better. I would whole heartedly recommend a visit if only to stand 2 foot from a stunning snow leopard!

This is one of the better zoos i have been to for accessibility the Car park has lots of spaces and the layout has been thought about to a point if yoiu are a fit disabled person you are ok as things like there show area is not designed at all for wheelchairs and the restaurant table areas is not that well spaced as is the entry into the indoor playarea.

So overall it is a good day out just be warned that unless you physically fit you may have trouble access areas of the zoo.
