Had a package trip to see Tigers. Very informed young lady guided us through the big cat area. Brunch and a tour made a nice present. Nice to hear that as a result the zoo donates 3,000000 a year to wildlife causes. Most zoos today are about conservation.
And this was explained well.
Lots for children but as pensioners we enjoyed it too.

We had groupon vouchers otherwise would have been too expensive.
Park is small enough to do with young children. We were done by 2. Perfect for little ones.
Cafe in the treetops was fab! Eating lunch next to sleeping tigers was something I won't forget!
Some of the park is looking a bit tired but overall a good day out.

A lovely family friendly attraction where you can see all sorts of wild animals including big cats, camels, lemurs, domestic animals and lots more. There's lots to do including a soft play area, bouncy castle, keeper talks, feeding sessions, go karts, and a great playground. Good selection of refreshments available with two restaurants and lots of snack bars. Safe for little ones too as all exits are manned or have child safety gates. A lovely day out.

We've been here twice, to do animal experiences both times.

It's a relatively small zoo for the price, but there is plenty there and it doesn't feel too crowded even when busy; we went on a sunny Saturday in May and happily spent 5+ hours there.

There is a good range of animals and all look well kept. The catering is limited but decent; we ate at the tiger top cafe where they serve freshly made sandwiches - probably one of the best zoo meals we've had!

I did the "tickle a Tapir experience" which sounded a bit odd at first so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed it in the end! They're quite remarkable creatures - gentle giants. Tom the keeper was very knowledgeable & clearly passionate about his work.

Don't forget World Tapir Day - April 27th, people!

PWP, is located with easy access from London via the A10 either by Road or by train via the park-mini-bus facility
We signed up for the breakfast experience, with the staff guide give a minimal health & safety yet ensured the entire audience could hear her with her clarity. The tour started off well with the history of the park & information on the preservation work of the park ~no hard sell at any stage. The animals et al appear to be fit & healthy . Although at times they were encouraged to wake up for a stroll they were never goaded to perform. The Park is large & functional through with raised walkways

Very good wildlife park, but there is room for improvement..
-The breakfast is budget-conscious for example the hot food was mini-boiled eggs
-The Maps are poor, with attention given to graphics over functionality
-The sign-posting s room form improvement, PWP need to step to larger visible signage
-hand-wash facilities should be available & visible at every area where humans come into contact with animals
-I'd love to recommend it as a gift but i don’t see any gift voucher options for purchase

I live nearby this attraction and we finally found the time to go and pay it a visit on the Sunday of May long weekend.
The zoo itself is well set out and the enclosures look large and well kept - viewing areas were well organized and the place never felt crowded. Most of the small rides/in park attractions are aimed at the under 7's so my 5 year old was happy, but my 8 year old seemed a bit lost and focused on the animals instead.
Feeding time at 5PM for the White Lions was great viewing and recommended. Staff were plentiful and always happy to help. Parking was easy and getting in and out was clearly signed and hassle free - unlike some other UK venues I've been to.

A few words about the admission prices: Yes I know it's a zoo and there's a multitude of signs as you go in reminding you of the cost of the upkeep of the zoo and it's tenants etc... however, £70.00 for a family of 4 for a venue that you can get around and see in a little over 3 hours is completely unacceptable. As we were going in and waiting in line a number of other visitors were busy canvassing the others with printed 'discount offers' looking to save themselves and others the sting of the admission charge. Most of these were left disappointed as there always seemed to be some element of small print which extinguished these well intentioned plans. The fact it goes on at all is evidence itself of the overpriced entry to this zoo.
Having to pay again for the mini railway and other in park attractions only added to the sense of being ripped off. My son loved the train (we went 3 x times) and at a further 1£ each time added another 12£ to our day -Ridiculous!

We had a good day and I'll likely go again -- but that admission charge left a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately prevents me from providing a better review.

What a great place to take the kids, free bouncy castles and loads of swings to keep them happy, the animals are great to see and feels very 'up close' A must is the sky cafe! Where you can eat your lunch overlooking the big cat pen, great day out for all

Visited on Friday 23/5 for a Brunch with the tigers...... a brilliant experience, we were picked up and taken for our brunch at the tiger treetops café, where our host had prepared us a lovely breakfast which we ate while we watched the tigers and our host answered our questions. Our tour guide arrived and took us for a tour of the big cats, she was brilliant so full of knowledge about all the cats and was happy to answer our questions. All staff at the park were friendly, the park was clean and tidy and toilets were of a good standard.

Great selection of animals and if you are visiting with children there is loads of other activity's to keep children happy as well as the animals.

At the side of the zoo there is the national museum of Speedway what a brilliant hidden gem a must to visit even if your not a huge speedway fan ..... its jam packed full of interesting speedway memorabilia to look at.

All in all a brilliant day

I pre booked mine and my partners tickers saving £8 so worth doing!!
We saw some amazing sites today, moments we will never forget. A lion was so close to us, we was beautiful to look at. We saw tigers, white tigers, cheaters, jaguar and many more animals.
We ate in the tiger top cafe, food was good. Homemade chicken and bacon and prawn sandwiches with side salad and nachos was £4.95 each so not unreasonable. We also had view of three beautiful tigers resting in the sunshine!!
You are albe to feed the small animals, lambs, goats, rabbits, ponys with food provided by the park @£1.
The Ice cream/lolly were expensive, twister £2 and dairy milk lolly was £2.50.
Lots of play areas, free and at small cost.
Highly recommended this park and I will be returning!!

Had a great day with all the family for my niece's birthday. Kids loved the animals, and really loved the splash park. Thank god it was a nice warm day!

Food was expensive, so best to take a picnic with you.

My son and I really enjoyed the speedway museum, full of old and new bikes.

Group bookings make the cost a lot cheaper as well.

There are a decent number of animals and the park is quite well laid out.

The highlights for us were the juggling otter (a chap who laid on his back in his enclosure content to balance stones on his hands while his friends were off swimming) and the amorous tortoises (who knew they were so loud!)

There are regular shows, talks and feeds to keep visitors interested. There is also plenty to entertain young children.

Having read other reviews, I understand what people say about small enclosures but the animals seem content enough and are worked well by the keepers. controversially, one may argue that they are in the safest place given that many are endangered in their natural habitats... At the end of the day, if you don't like the idea of animals in captivity, don't visit a zoo!

Marked down to four as it is expensive; an adult only party will realistically get only a couple of hours entertainment. We are mid-way between this and Colchester zoo; the latter is a few pounds more for entry, but is far bigger and more adult oriented. Saying that, pwp is definitely worth a look if you have tesco vouchers or a discounted entry ticket.

Paradise Wildlife Park was one of 100 international zoos chosen to take part in an awareness day for the 22q11 deletion syndrome. My wife and I hosted the event.

09:15 in the morning and we had arrived at Paradise Park – the great advantage in arriving early is you get just THE BEST place to park the car – not in the shade but just outside the Discovery Centre where we had booked a place to meet and greet, to have lunch, to remind people why they were there, and to protect ourselves in case of inclement weather. Inclement – not a chance – bright sunshine and my car was recording 26degrees! It wasn’t long before our families started to arrive – total 167 parents and children eventually.

We had organised a raffle (within our own party) as an incentive for people to return to our room at 2pm for a group photo and a few words from us. Many families used our room to have their picnic lunch – out of the blazing midday sun. Then we ran out of raffle tickets and had to start making them up ourselves – in fact we ‘sold’ about twice as many raffle tickets as last year, and we didn’t have one of Sarah’s cakes as a prize! First prize was a Max Appeal teddy bear with attitude (no – sorry - with dosh – a tenner stuck up his jumper!). Second prize was a this year’s 22q at the Zoo shirt from the USA. We bought a couple of things from the zoo shop to reward ticket buyers for their enthusiasm. We still ended up making a net profit of £133 for Max Appeal charity funds.

Sarah Ryan made a small speech, and Chris set all the adults a challenge – we had had printed a number of postcards with the contact details for Max Appeal and the ‘cocktail’ of symptoms that 22q’ers can exhibit. Every adult in the group accepted our challenge – to take three postcards – to give one to their child’s school teacher (to ‘hit’ the education system) and to drop the other two cards into neighbour’s letterboxes. Four adults didn’t just take three cards – they asked and got a wad of them! #22qAwarenessDays does not stop on 18th May in our book!

We did get to see the Zoo ourselves – from about 3pm – but we didn’t do it justice because we were ‘rather’ tired! What was really good was the smiles of peoples faces – especially the children. It was obvious to us that this Zoo had more for the families to see because there was less walking distance between exhibits than Whipsnade. AND there were more places to buy ice-creams, drinks etc.

Thank you Paradise Park, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire for accommodating us.

The park has a great range of animals and play areas for the kids. Our kids had a fantastic day, so much so our 2 year old son did not want to leave.

The speedway museum was a great little extra.

The only negative for me was that a good number of the areas look old and tired and could do with renovation

Had Amazon local deal so entry was £7.50 children and £9 adults today. We usually go to Whipsnade but my Son has a school trip there in a couple of weeks so decided to try a smaller animal park. My 2 boys loved it here. It was a baking hot day so the fact they didn't have to walk miles to see the animals was a bonus. We easily spent 3 hours in the play park side of the attraction, where there are lots of swings, slides, climbing frames etc plus ride on attractions, a railway, woodland walk and wolves. We had lunch on 1 of the many picnic tables, luckily found 1 in the wood in the shade!

After lunch we crossed the road over to the animals. There are plenty to see, lots of live shows...the bird show is a must. We had a go at the crazy golf and played in the under cover play area for nearly an hour. A round of ice creams later and we finished off at the lagoon, Remember to bring a towel and swim costumes for the littlies.

We spent much more time playing that looking at the animals but the boys thought the place was fab. Check out the map on the PWP website so see all that is on offer.

If you have a small child they will love it here. The outdoor play area & indoor play area are great. We did spend extra on the rides in the Zoo. We were alittle disappointed by the animals,Whipsnade & Woburn have more animals to see & more space for the animals. It was a little sad to see the animals in such small places. Overall tho,we did have a fun day.

Went to the park for a 70th Birthday treat for some friends, and have to say that we were very impressed.

The size of the park is great for wandering around, not too big, and loads of things going on to keep everyone interested. The staff and information around was brilliant, and the interactive areas just make it shine.

It was a great day out for all - and really somewhere we'll definitely be happy to go back to another time.

Visited pwpark with my husband and 3year old son on a Thursday. Read reviews about the space for the animals being small but I personally think it was fine and you got to actually see the animals, we got to see every single animal, and the fact that a tiger jumped up and roared at my husband made my sons day. The play areas are great, lots of bouncy castles, slides and swings and the ball pool was fab. You could take swimwear for you kids to go in the little paddling pool but we wasn't in it too long.
We took our own food and there was plenty of picnic areas. We was there for over 6 hours and had a groupon voucher but I would of been happy even if we paid full gate price.
The only thing is the train ride was not too fun for adults but the sound effects will give you a laugh. All in all a great day out.

As im local, I take my son here at least twice a year. We love it here and learn something new each time. Such a vast variety of animals to see, with a petting zoo and large insect and reptile enclosure. Lots of reasonable places to eat inside and also a non expensive gift shop. Ticket prices are cheap with often discounts and promotions. Theres enough to see and do for a whole day so its defintely worth while. Id recommend coming here with young children, they'd love it :)

We took our small granddaughter there and although she enjoyed seeing the animals and feeding the sheep, goats and pigs, I couldn't help thinking that maybe the big cats were being kept in too small enclosures. The cheetahs were just pacing round and round the enclosure and looked quite bored and the beautiful, absolutely enormous white tiger just looked out of place. I'm sure they're doing it all for the right reasons, but maybe these animals might be better off at somewhere like Whipsnade if they can't be released into the wild.

Just got back from PWP with my 2 boys (1 and 3) and had a really good day out! Lots to do ranging from obviously seeing the animals - white tiger, cheetah and lions the highlight to the bouncy castle and inflatables, playgrounds and indoor soft play, unfortunately not warm enough for the splash pool!

The park is nice and compact and easy to navigate/walk around, we also did the free tractor ride and train ride (small fee).

We took our own lunch and plenty of benches and picnic tables around and undercover as it did rain today.

The park was nice and quiet, a few school trips about but really nice being able to easily view the animals and get on things without waiting (it was a Tuesday so no doubt busier at weekends).

Definitely enough to keep you and the little ones occupied for a full day and I purchased the entry tickets through Groupon (under 2's free) so nice and cheap to!

Will definitely return again!

I brought my husband a gift experience for tea with the tigers which included a day admission to the zoo. The zoo was a great place for family's with plenty of things to do. they even have a speedway museum as well as a little train that takes you on a short ride around the woods. The tiger experience was great the guide had a wide intense knowledge of the big cats and it was def worth getting the inside knowledge of them.
we then finished the day with afternoon tea in the tree top café over looking the lions.
Brilliant day and highly recommended

Great destination for kids. Decent range of animals and not too much walking to do as the park is set on a small area. If finances allow definately try one of the experiences on offer. We fed the penguins and the one to one service combined with the experience really made the day.
Large picnic areas and plenty of things for the kids to do.

I purchased a gift deal for my husband for Xmas of Afternoon Tea with the Tigers. We arrived at 11 and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the zoo, and the amount of info given on the animals. It would be a great place for families as there are many climbing frames and things to do for children. Seeing the bats hanging from the ceiling was quite a sight!
Our afternoon was spent with Ian and a small group, going round all the large cats. Ian is very enthusiastic and obviously loves his job and the animals. We learned a lot from him and understood better why we need zoos.
The afternoon tea was plentiful and quite varied and held in the Treetops Cafe overlooking the tigers, which was lovely. Even though it rained all day, we still enjoyed ourselves!
The only down side was the lunch, very ordinary fare, burgers and chips etc and really not very nice and also expensive.

I thought it was a little expensive at first but enjoyed the visit so much that I changed my opinion to be a very fair price. There is so much to do especially for families with young children. The staff were all very welcoming and took the time to answer any questions.
The conditions the animals were kept in were very clean and it was obvious that they were well cared for and loved.
I was very impressed that they had posters on all the animal enclosures in sign language for deaf people. It was lovely to see somewhere so committed to providing facilities for visitors with special needs.
I really enjoyed my visit and would be happy to go again.
