We went here on a nice, sunny day. The animals were out, although quite a few sought cover in the shade. It is a small zoo and - if you don't have kids who want to play in every attraction on the non-zoo side of the park - 3 hours is as much as you'll need. We had a groupon voucher; the full price would have been too much for an adult to have a day out.

There were hundreds of small children from many different schools and it made walking round less than pleasurable. Our sat nav brought us on some of the narrowest roads and there were few signs to say where the park was. The animals when we could see them were very good. I do not recollect ever seeing a red panda before and they were adorable. TV has made the meerkats and they do not disappoint. There are lots of other animals but nowhere near as many as at London zoo or Whipsnade.

The food we ate from the burger/hotdog stand was poor, overcooked and very overpriced for what it was.

My tip would be to go in April or May to avoid school trips and take a packed lunch.

Whenever I have seen otters before they have always been hiding and you were lucky to catch them - the same with the lions. Here the otters were running along in a line, following each other and looking like they were enjoying themselves. Although not as active, the white lions were sat on top of a rock two metres away. Another big cat looked as though it was coming right at us - spared by the Perspex. A conservational talk we attended was brilliantly executed by Emma, just the right length with just the right amount of fun. A special treat for the children was feeding the Lorikeets with nectar - the adults seem to get the pecking and poop. We finished up at the playground for a jam packed day.

My girlfriend had booked a surprise visit for me to stay over at the park (which we did in the Tiger Room on the 28th May), and also the feeding the Big Cat experience.

From the moment we arrived we found every single member of staff we encountered to be fantastic, friendly, knowledgable and passionate about the Park and the animals. I understand that the assistance received during the booking and arranging process was phenominal by Carly.

Steve who took me on the experience to feed Rocky was such an incredible individual who made the experience relaxed and truly rewarding. I have always had a passion for Tigers and getting up close to Rocky was something that I will never forget.

After breakfast yesterday morning we were collected by another Steve to get a tour around with another couple that were staying. He took us behind the scenes a little and we had the opportunity to handle some of the smaller creatures - I certainly had never had a skunk on my lap before! Again what a credit he is to the Paradise Wildlife Park.

The animals you have are magnificent and clearly extremely well cared for and loved. Any organisation is only as good as the people in it, and Paradise Wildlife Park certainly has the best people possible. It was incredible to see the animals, but it is the people that made the experience truly memorable.

Thank you to everyone, long may your success continue

Was a very nice little zoo, but that's exactly what it was - a littl zoo. We were there doing an animal experiance which was ok and then spent time in the zoo after. Maybe it was the time of year in which we went. We were two adults also so children would still enjoy it. I would have been disappointed had we paid full price entrance as we only spent a few hours (3 max) there but we didn't mind as we had cheap voucher entry. I wouldn't bother going back but that's also as we had to travel to get there.

I cannot even begin to tell you what a fantastic day we had. We went for the meet the meerkat experience and it was great. I love meerkats and I am biased but it was worth every penny. Had so much time to sit and feed and play with them. They are so curious and friendly. Everyone needs a meerkat kiss and cuddle at least once in their lives! Steve the keeper was also great. It's away from the public in private area and this was really good to be able to just chill out with them. I will definitely do it again. The rest of the park is also really nice and all the animals were lively and happy. Cannot wait to go back and meet the meerkats again and also the Tapirs! Only downside I didn't get to see the sloths but good excuse to go back:) thank you for an amazing experience.

A visit to Paradise Wildlife Park is well worthwhile. The park is compact, easy to get around and they have some interesting animals - staff are friendly and helpful.
So why not exactly Paradise? - for me and it is only a personal opinion - I did not enjoy the mix of animal attractions and 'children's entertainments' - when my kids were smaller it have indeed been Paradise - so go, enjoy and make your own mind up!!

Myself and my daughter had the Meet the Meerkats experience bought for us as a present, our meeting was at 3:30pm but we arrived early and went round the rest of the zoo first.
I was particularly taken by the big cats; the lion, tigers, snow leopards and cheetahs, all looked very healthy and energetic and I was able to get some great (close-up) photos (I will upload a few as soon as I get the chance). The birds of paradise were also lovely to see, a good variety and again all in good health. Other animals there that spring to mind are the camels, zebras, Tapir, red panda, bats and amphibians as well as lots of farm animals. A great build-up to our finale of meeting the Meerkats! The literature that came before our visit said to dress-down and expect the Meerkats to climb on you, I was expecting them to run over our feet and perhaps scamper up and down our legs briefly but they did much more than this. We both fed them from their bowls and by hand and I squatted down on the floor with them, after they had finished eating they were very inquisitive and decided to climb ALL over us, in fact I thought one was going to have to come home with me as he was intent on getting into my jacket. We were with them for at least 30 minutes and the keeper was very friendly and knowledgeable about these and Meerkats in general.
If all this sounds like your thing, I would definitely recommend a visit - dont forget to book an animal experience first, its well worth it!!

Had a package trip to see Tigers. Very informed young lady guided us through the big cat area. Brunch and a tour made a nice present. Nice to hear that as a result the zoo donates 3,000000 a year to wildlife causes. Most zoos today are about conservation.
And this was explained well.
Lots for children but as pensioners we enjoyed it too.

We had groupon vouchers otherwise would have been too expensive.
Park is small enough to do with young children. We were done by 2. Perfect for little ones.
Cafe in the treetops was fab! Eating lunch next to sleeping tigers was something I won't forget!
Some of the park is looking a bit tired but overall a good day out.

A lovely family friendly attraction where you can see all sorts of wild animals including big cats, camels, lemurs, domestic animals and lots more. There's lots to do including a soft play area, bouncy castle, keeper talks, feeding sessions, go karts, and a great playground. Good selection of refreshments available with two restaurants and lots of snack bars. Safe for little ones too as all exits are manned or have child safety gates. A lovely day out.

We've been here twice, to do animal experiences both times.

It's a relatively small zoo for the price, but there is plenty there and it doesn't feel too crowded even when busy; we went on a sunny Saturday in May and happily spent 5+ hours there.

There is a good range of animals and all look well kept. The catering is limited but decent; we ate at the tiger top cafe where they serve freshly made sandwiches - probably one of the best zoo meals we've had!

I did the "tickle a Tapir experience" which sounded a bit odd at first so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed it in the end! They're quite remarkable creatures - gentle giants. Tom the keeper was very knowledgeable & clearly passionate about his work.

Don't forget World Tapir Day - April 27th, people!

PWP, is located with easy access from London via the A10 either by Road or by train via the park-mini-bus facility
We signed up for the breakfast experience, with the staff guide give a minimal health & safety yet ensured the entire audience could hear her with her clarity. The tour started off well with the history of the park & information on the preservation work of the park ~no hard sell at any stage. The animals et al appear to be fit & healthy . Although at times they were encouraged to wake up for a stroll they were never goaded to perform. The Park is large & functional through with raised walkways

Very good wildlife park, but there is room for improvement..
-The breakfast is budget-conscious for example the hot food was mini-boiled eggs
-The Maps are poor, with attention given to graphics over functionality
-The sign-posting s room form improvement, PWP need to step to larger visible signage
-hand-wash facilities should be available & visible at every area where humans come into contact with animals
-I'd love to recommend it as a gift but i don’t see any gift voucher options for purchase

I live nearby this attraction and we finally found the time to go and pay it a visit on the Sunday of May long weekend.
The zoo itself is well set out and the enclosures look large and well kept - viewing areas were well organized and the place never felt crowded. Most of the small rides/in park attractions are aimed at the under 7's so my 5 year old was happy, but my 8 year old seemed a bit lost and focused on the animals instead.
Feeding time at 5PM for the White Lions was great viewing and recommended. Staff were plentiful and always happy to help. Parking was easy and getting in and out was clearly signed and hassle free - unlike some other UK venues I've been to.

A few words about the admission prices: Yes I know it's a zoo and there's a multitude of signs as you go in reminding you of the cost of the upkeep of the zoo and it's tenants etc... however, £70.00 for a family of 4 for a venue that you can get around and see in a little over 3 hours is completely unacceptable. As we were going in and waiting in line a number of other visitors were busy canvassing the others with printed 'discount offers' looking to save themselves and others the sting of the admission charge. Most of these were left disappointed as there always seemed to be some element of small print which extinguished these well intentioned plans. The fact it goes on at all is evidence itself of the overpriced entry to this zoo.
Having to pay again for the mini railway and other in park attractions only added to the sense of being ripped off. My son loved the train (we went 3 x times) and at a further 1£ each time added another 12£ to our day -Ridiculous!

We had a good day and I'll likely go again -- but that admission charge left a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately prevents me from providing a better review.

Visited on Friday 23/5 for a Brunch with the tigers...... a brilliant experience, we were picked up and taken for our brunch at the tiger treetops café, where our host had prepared us a lovely breakfast which we ate while we watched the tigers and our host answered our questions. Our tour guide arrived and took us for a tour of the big cats, she was brilliant so full of knowledge about all the cats and was happy to answer our questions. All staff at the park were friendly, the park was clean and tidy and toilets were of a good standard.

Great selection of animals and if you are visiting with children there is loads of other activity's to keep children happy as well as the animals.

At the side of the zoo there is the national museum of Speedway what a brilliant hidden gem a must to visit even if your not a huge speedway fan ..... its jam packed full of interesting speedway memorabilia to look at.

All in all a brilliant day

I pre booked mine and my partners tickers saving £8 so worth doing!!
We saw some amazing sites today, moments we will never forget. A lion was so close to us, we was beautiful to look at. We saw tigers, white tigers, cheaters, jaguar and many more animals.
We ate in the tiger top cafe, food was good. Homemade chicken and bacon and prawn sandwiches with side salad and nachos was £4.95 each so not unreasonable. We also had view of three beautiful tigers resting in the sunshine!!
You are albe to feed the small animals, lambs, goats, rabbits, ponys with food provided by the park @£1.
The Ice cream/lolly were expensive, twister £2 and dairy milk lolly was £2.50.
Lots of play areas, free and at small cost.
Highly recommended this park and I will be returning!!

Had a great day with all the family for my niece's birthday. Kids loved the animals, and really loved the splash park. Thank god it was a nice warm day!

Food was expensive, so best to take a picnic with you.

My son and I really enjoyed the speedway museum, full of old and new bikes.

Group bookings make the cost a lot cheaper as well.

There are a decent number of animals and the park is quite well laid out.

The highlights for us were the juggling otter (a chap who laid on his back in his enclosure content to balance stones on his hands while his friends were off swimming) and the amorous tortoises (who knew they were so loud!)

There are regular shows, talks and feeds to keep visitors interested. There is also plenty to entertain young children.

Having read other reviews, I understand what people say about small enclosures but the animals seem content enough and are worked well by the keepers. controversially, one may argue that they are in the safest place given that many are endangered in their natural habitats... At the end of the day, if you don't like the idea of animals in captivity, don't visit a zoo!

Marked down to four as it is expensive; an adult only party will realistically get only a couple of hours entertainment. We are mid-way between this and Colchester zoo; the latter is a few pounds more for entry, but is far bigger and more adult oriented. Saying that, pwp is definitely worth a look if you have tesco vouchers or a discounted entry ticket.

Paradise Wildlife Park was one of 100 international zoos chosen to take part in an awareness day for the 22q11 deletion syndrome. My wife and I hosted the event.

09:15 in the morning and we had arrived at Paradise Park – the great advantage in arriving early is you get just THE BEST place to park the car – not in the shade but just outside the Discovery Centre where we had booked a place to meet and greet, to have lunch, to remind people why they were there, and to protect ourselves in case of inclement weather. Inclement – not a chance – bright sunshine and my car was recording 26degrees! It wasn’t long before our families started to arrive – total 167 parents and children eventually.

We had organised a raffle (within our own party) as an incentive for people to return to our room at 2pm for a group photo and a few words from us. Many families used our room to have their picnic lunch – out of the blazing midday sun. Then we ran out of raffle tickets and had to start making them up ourselves – in fact we ‘sold’ about twice as many raffle tickets as last year, and we didn’t have one of Sarah’s cakes as a prize! First prize was a Max Appeal teddy bear with attitude (no – sorry - with dosh – a tenner stuck up his jumper!). Second prize was a this year’s 22q at the Zoo shirt from the USA. We bought a couple of things from the zoo shop to reward ticket buyers for their enthusiasm. We still ended up making a net profit of £133 for Max Appeal charity funds.

Sarah Ryan made a small speech, and Chris set all the adults a challenge – we had had printed a number of postcards with the contact details for Max Appeal and the ‘cocktail’ of symptoms that 22q’ers can exhibit. Every adult in the group accepted our challenge – to take three postcards – to give one to their child’s school teacher (to ‘hit’ the education system) and to drop the other two cards into neighbour’s letterboxes. Four adults didn’t just take three cards – they asked and got a wad of them! #22qAwarenessDays does not stop on 18th May in our book!

We did get to see the Zoo ourselves – from about 3pm – but we didn’t do it justice because we were ‘rather’ tired! What was really good was the smiles of peoples faces – especially the children. It was obvious to us that this Zoo had more for the families to see because there was less walking distance between exhibits than Whipsnade. AND there were more places to buy ice-creams, drinks etc.

Thank you Paradise Park, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire for accommodating us.

The park has a great range of animals and play areas for the kids. Our kids had a fantastic day, so much so our 2 year old son did not want to leave.

The speedway museum was a great little extra.

The only negative for me was that a good number of the areas look old and tired and could do with renovation
