Phil Chappell Charity Cycle Ride for Sue Ryder Care
15th July 2010

My charity cycle ride from London to Paris is only 13 days away now. I've just taken my Bianchi bike in for a service to AW Cycles in Caversham. I'm having some puncture resistant tyres fitted as well. Lets hope that they work and I don't get a puncture on the way to Paris.

For my training recently I did a 30 mile cycle around the Chilterns and last Saturday I did 2 hours of spinning in the Market Place, Henley. Followed by two games of cricket on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. I do keep wicket which is good training for the thighs. This was to help promote Expert Fitness Studio and Henley Chiro who are my leading sponsors for the cycle ride. My spinning was part of the Wellbeing Festival so it was fairly busy in the market place. We had a second spinning bike available for people to have a go. I was really popular with the kids who loved having a go!

Thanks to Sunil Bilakhia of Bodywise Health Food shop. He organised the festival and allowed us to promote my ride on the day. Thanks Sunil.

No cycling this weekend as we're off to the last day of the Open Golf at St. Andrews. Should be a great occasion. Hope that the weather holds up. Therefore I will need to get in a couple of good rides in next week before we set off for the ride from Blackheath on Wednesday 28th July. I'm really looking forward to getting going, though also a little apprehensive about the distances that we have to cover. Oh well no backing out now.

Thanks also to everybody who has sponsored me so far. I'm nearly at £700 now. I would like to break the £1,000 soon and see if I can get near to £2,000 eventually. Please sponsor me at www.justgiving.com/phil-chappell

Thanks,
