Our very own local business members Kool Cakes were approached by Channel 5's Big Brother to build Frankie Cocozza a birthday cake.

Read what Ashit from Kool Cakes had to say:

We were approached by Celebrity Big Brother and they requested if we were able to make a large cake for one of the housemate’s birthday. They found out about us through their contacts and through our website and the reputation that we have in the cake making business. With Mr Paul having over 20 years experience in the cake making business this gave them extra confidence in our ability to make the specified cake. We had a meeting at our offices to discuss their specific requirement. They felt this was going to be a difficult task, however we were up to the challenge and told BB that we will be able to make this cake to their specification. This was no problem for us. Upon listening to our idea of how we were going to build the cake they happily gave us the order.

It took a week to plan this mammoth task. It took 3 days to get the relevant ingredients ready including the sponge, cream, etc. We were all excited on Monday morning(16 Jan 2012) when we had to assemble the cake at the BB house. It took 10 hours to assemble and decorate and complete the cake. At various stages of the cake building process various BB staff would come and check on the progress and everytime anyone came they would be amazed at how we were building the cake.

The cake was 40” in diameter and approx. 5ft 4” tall and weighed approx. 300kg. Please note that the cake did not have any form of structural support to support it. It was solely free standing. It contained sponge, cream and jam only, hence it was totally edible. Kool Cakes Bakery also provided a birthday cake for all the housemates to eat on Tuesday evening to celebrate Frankie Cocozza’s birthday. This cake had Frankie Cocozza’s picture on it.

The whole task would not have been possible if it were not for the professional staff of Kool Cakes Bakery who were instrumental in all the preparation for the big day. On the day Kulwinder Kumar(Paul), Ashit Shah and Miss Kiran Bagha assembled and decorated and completed the cake at the BB house.

Mr Kulwinder Kumar(Paul) and Mr Ashit Shah are both directors of Kool Cakes Bakery and they are very proud of their staff and for the opportunity given to them by BB. They thank BB for this wonderful opportunity. Nothing is impossible for the Kool Cakes Team.
