A NEW BUY LOCAL WEEK CAMPAIGN is being launched by thebestof Guernsey from 3rd-7th June 2013. The campaign aims to encourage islanders to choose local business first and support the Buy Local message.

Buying local is a hot topic in today’s economic climate and a message that thebestof has been promoting for a number of years with an ongoing Buy Local campaign.

Buy Local Week is aimed at strengthening the message to support local businesses and encourage consumers to buy locally.

Many local people already actively support this campaign by displaying window stickers in their shops, offices, cars and even on packaging. However, we can all do more than that; the campaign calls on islanders to stop and think about how they spend and how 'keeping it local' can  make a real difference to the local economy.

During the week local people will be encouraged to  pledge their support by joining the Buy Local Supporters List. 

DAILY PRIZES

WIN £100 to spend with any local business featured on thebestof Guernsey!

Every day, for one week, five supporters from around the British Isles will win £100 and any Guernsey winners can spend this with any business featured on thebestof Guernsey website.

Prizes will be randomly selected and only given to local registered users who ‘pledge to Buy Local’.

Buy Local Events, Offers & Competitions
A number of local businesses featured on thebestof Guernsey wesbite will also be holding Buy Local themed events, promotions and competitions, so keep an eye on the Buy Local Facebook Page for updates. 

Buy Local Giveaways
To accompany the campaign the following items are available for local businesses and local people to show their support:

• • Buy Local Shopping Bags (bags for life) on sale to raise money for local charity
  • 'I ♥ To Buy Local' Stickers - to display in car windows, shops/offices and company vehicles
  • Posters
  • Postcards
  • Balloons

You may notice some changes to thebestof Guernsey website during the week including a temporary re-brand with a Buy Local theme, including banners and a ‘pledge your support section’.
