The Doghouse in St Martins Guernsey is the place to go if you want quality food, great service and live music. We arranged a short break to watch a favourite band of ours who were playing at this venue and really didn't know what to expect having limited experience of the Channel Islands. I had contacted the Manager via email a few days prior to our visit to book tickets for the event and was pleasantly surprised to discover that the gig was free entry. Tom also suggested booking a table for dinner which in view of the fact this is a popular venue was wise advice. On our arrival we were promptly shown to our table ideally situated to watch the band and our drink order was taken and menu's produced. We both ordered steak and didn't have to wait long before our meals arrived at the table. The meal was superb ! Incredibly juicy tender steak, perfect fries and all of the best quality. We both agreed that the steaks were the best we had ever eaten. The menu itself was varied and reasonably priced with something for everybody. Our waitress Gabrielle brought our drinks to the table during the entire evening while we sat and enjoyed the band. Exceptional service indeed ! We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and to round it off Tom managed to get us a taxi back to our hotel which wasn't easy it being a Saturday night. I can't recommend this place highly enough and wouldn't hesitate to visit it again in the future. Well done all of you at the Doghouse !

Great food and a good selection of beers. There is sport on TV - and plenty of screens. Newspapers available. A good place to unwind after a busy day.

I ate in here on a Wednesday night and the pub was fairly quiet (about 8 people in total). The staff are friendly. The food was great and a good price I would definitely recommend it.
I've heard that the bands that play here are good but on the night I went there was no band playing.
I'd definitely visit again.

£4.95 for a pint of shandy. Need I say more? When I asked why it's £2.50 for half a pint of the beer and £2.40 for the lemonade. Total rip off. I'd have been better off getting a pint. Need to look at your pricing structure as I know how much the lemonade costs in your boxes on tap.

Had a great new year in the Doghouse. There was a four course meal followed by a U2 tribute band which were excellent. Lively, friendly atmosphere. Only a few yards away from the St Pierre hotel where we stayed for a couple of nights.

We had the fortune of stumbling on The Doghouse over the weekend whilst on holiday.
We were welcomed and seated on Saturday and the young lady serving even turned the TV over so we could watch the Saints.
The food was excellent we had roast pork belly, sauerkraut and parsley potatoes and it was superb. The pork was heavenly.
We went again Monday night and although the kitchen didn't open until 6 the young lady was keen to please and too our order before 5;45.
This time we went for the sharing platters and were not disappointed.
The ladies had dessert too.
I cant recommend this place high enough.
They even have live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

This is a fun pub with friendly and attentive service and good food. It's also conveniently close to a bus stop.
I had a lovely lobster thermidore here, the lobster was cooked beautifully. The chips were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, almost perfect except for being slightly over seasoned unfortunately. The pork belly was also very good. The burgers here are also very good and the lasagna is wonderful too.
There's a shisha pipe behind the bar that you can ask to use for a price. They regularly have bands here in the evenings and there are also fun themed events. These events add to the atmosphere and make it fun!
There are two small outdoor areas, one at the back and an area at the front which is sheltered from the main road by a wooden fence and plants.

We walked from cobo to st Peter port and decided to make a lunch stop here as we passed . Very tidy friendly pub , we have been here for a music event before for which it is famous and is normally a good night . We choose a selection of starters and salads from the menu . The food came in good time and was of very good quality . We were all happy with the choices we made . The staff were very friendly , polite and made sure we were looked after . Well worth a try just for a drink or if you are wanting food .

I have eaten at The Doghouse a few times in the evening and always enjoyed the ample portions so was looking forward to trying the ‘Light & Tight’ lunchtime menu.

I sent an email to book a table and within 2 hours Irene the manager had telephoned to confirm the reservation.

After much deliberation Karina and I chose the Lasagne which came with a bowl of chunky chips whilst Paula and Denise chose the Chicken Schnitzel with sautee potatoes and salad. The premise of the ‘Light & Tight’ menu is that if your food doesn’t arrive on your table within 20 minutes of ordering you will be given a 20% discount. Ours arrived well within that time. The dishes were very tasty and for £6.95 each I feel they offer great value for money.

The prize also included a generous £40.00 drink allowance but as we were all driving we kept to soft drinks but had coffees to round off the meal. The coffees are served in large cups and I can confirm the cappuccino was lovely.

Bon Giovi (a Bon Jovi tribute band) were playing that evening so were setting up and we really enjoyed listening to them play – a nice little extra bonus.

Recommended by a friendly guy in the Tourist Information Centre, we had a very nice evening here - don't be put off by the scaffolding outside! Decent food, quick service and a surprisingly good local band, Big Machine, who had us on our feet. Staff also organised a taxi back to our hotel for us.

All in all the Dog House is a nice place to have a drink and when we went it was particularly busy with a band night , we went with a group of friends for a meal but we were double booked and ended up leaving as they could not accomodate us ......slightly dissapointing as it was not our error but we ate elsewhere and returned for a drink after and had a pleasant evening.

I always enjoy live music nights at The Doghouse. We try and go for a meal beforehand as there is usually a good choice on the menu and service is excellent. They get a great range of local talent and tribute bands - always a good atmosphere.
